1. False Claim of FCA and Council Regulation
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) does not regulate charities, baby banks, or fundraising shops. Its remit covers financial services and the use of certain sensitive words (e.g., “bank”) in company names. Even where the FCA issues a letter of non-objection for a name, that is not an authorisation or endorsement of the business.
In July 2025 the FCA confirmed in direct correspondence that it “does not authorise or regulate charities or baby banks.” Any earlier permission related only to the use of the sensitive word “bank” within a trading name. This clarification, published in the investigation ‘The Only FCA-Approved Charity?’, demonstrates that no regulatory approval was ever issued to Jayne’s Baby Bank.
Torfaen County Borough Council confirmed through FOI Ref 25/418 (6 October 2025) that Jayne’s Baby Bank is not a registered company or charity. The Council stated: The requested information is personal data as it relates to an individual as the entity known as Jaynes Baby Bank is not a registered company.
This means the shop operates in a private individual’s name, not as a legal entity.
Likewise, a food-business registration filed with Caerphilly County Borough Council on 24 February 2024 for 68 Tredegar Street, Risca listed the operator type as “A charity (registered by a representative)” with the charity number “Awaiting.” No such registration appears on the Charity Commission register. This was a self-declared form for hygiene purposes, not official recognition.
Images captured in early 2024 (Image Archive) show the same “Awaiting Charity Number” phrase printed on shop signage and shared on Facebook. This confirms the false declaration extended beyond paperwork into public-facing materials, misleading donors and visitors into believing formal charity registration was pending.
2. Misuse of Trading Standards References
Trading Standards have not “approved” Jayne’s Baby Bank. Officers visited after complaints about signage describing the shop as a charity. They ordered the removal of a poster claiming charitable status. The service continues to monitor the premises but has issued no endorsement.
3. False Identity
The operator of Jayne’s Baby Bank is Carrie-Anne Ridsdale, not “Jayne Price.” Official documents from Caerphilly CBC list the contact email carridsdale@gmail.com. Lease and tenancy documents also carry her legal name. The alternating use of aliases “Jayne Price,” “Jayne-Anne,” and “Jayne-Anne Carrie-Anne Ridsdale” across councils demonstrates deliberate identity variation.
FOI disclosures from Caerphilly County Borough Council include emails sent from carridsdale@gmail.com and signed “Carrie Anne.” These appear alongside business-rate and trading correspondence referencing “Jayne’s Baby Bank,” linking the Facebook persona and the legal identity of the operator beyond doubt.
Using a false or partial name in trading contravenes the Business Names Act 1985 and sections 1202–1206 of the Companies Act 2006, which require sole traders to display their true legal name and address on business documents and signage.
Identity Confirmation via Tribunal Letter
Further confirmation of the operator’s legal identity surfaced in August 2025, when a letter from HM Courts & Tribunals Service and Torfaen County Borough Council appeared during a livestream. The document, visible in the leaked footage, names Ms Carrie-Anne Ridsdale in full. This directly aligns with prior correspondence held by Caerphilly CBC and confirms that “Jayne Price” is a trading alias, not a separate individual.
“A Familiar Pattern: Identity Confusion” — This is not the first time Carrie Anne has exposed her legal identity during a live broadcast. Previously, in a leaked Subject Access Request video, she revealed the name “Carrie Anne Ridsdale” — the same name now seen on these official summons letters issued by HM Courts & Tribunals Service and Torfaen Council.

4. Unsupported “Not-for-Profit” Status
No constitution, incorporation, or accounts exist to prove not-for-profit status. FOI records show councils treat the activity as personal trading. Describing income as “fundraising for foodbanks” without audit or independent oversight does not meet the legal definition of a not-for-profit under UK company or charity law.
5. The “Only FCA-Approved Charity” Myth
The claim to be “the only charity in Great Britain approved by the FCA to use the word ‘charity’ ” is impossible. The FCA confirmed it does not authorise or approve any charity. The documentary pattern — false charity declarations, alternating identities, and misleading references to regulation — shows a sustained attempt to create an illusion of legitimacy. Integrity is demonstrated by compliance and disclosure, not by unsupported claims of approval.

I doubt the figures provided are genuine. The outgoings are likely to be several thousand pounds per month, meaning the income will exceed the £10,200 threshold. Therefore, she is now obligated to disclose the cost of rent and related expenses. While I acknowledge her attempts to limit certain activities, this decision will not work in her favour. If her submissions, for example, show an income of around £9,000, we only need to estimate property costs over the tax year. At the lowest estimate of £400 per property, with locations in Blackwood, Caerphilly, Risca, and Pontypool, the total comes to approximately £19,200 per year. If the Baby Bank is not generating that amount and she is ‘personally funding’ it, that raises further issues.
This was a calculated risk — and a mistake.
Carrie, you previously operated within a grey area that allowed you to avoid registration and the oversight of governing bodies. By registering, you have now empowered those same departments to act. From this point forward, any complaints carry a legal obligation to be investigated. On the other hand, you now have a genuine opportunity to do good. However, there is one major problem: your live streams.
Your live streams frequently target individuals, charities, and businesses. This behaviour will be used against both you and your C.I.C. The alias ‘Jayne Price’ cannot shield you. Nor can using your mother as a scapegoat. You now have statutory duties and reporting obligations that you must meet. These are no longer optional. Can you manage twenty-four hours without attacking anyone online? That is the challenge. Could you, for the rest of the year, refrain from creating drama on social media? Could you avoid the disputes involving Ian or the alleged sabotage of HCT’s family? Can you remain silent and focus on those who truly matter — the mothers?
We hope, Carrie, that you take this opportunity to do the right thing. The past five years cannot be undone, and accountability is inevitable, but in what remains of your influence, you still have the chance to turn things around. The mothers you claim to support do not need make-up unboxings. Low-income mothers cannot afford those luxuries. Your audience consists of people in need. You are not a make-up artist, a media influencer, or a moral guide — but you are, right now, an opportunist with one final opportunity to end on a positive note.

The hostility she directs towards others, towards men, towards people in general, appears to reflect an internal struggle. In my opinion, this may be why those closest to her distance themselves. Self-destructive attitudes tend to drive others away.
How can one form a view? Simply take the time to watch some of the videos and consider the contrast between a stated mission of helping others and the apparent effort to belittle them. It feels contradictory. She may attempt to present external factors such as landlords or economic pressures as the cause of any future difficulties, yet that narrative can only be sustained for so long.
Whether it concerns a shop or a charitable initiative, scrutiny will continue.

At a glance, the kindest thing i can say is, ‘even a psychiatrist will earn their money trying to assess her’.
It’s hard to believe any normal person can keep this level of contempt up. It must consume every second of her day scanning social media to find a comment she doesn’t like.

The screenshot shared confirms the Charity Commission has not opened a statutory investigation into Helping Caring Team. Instead, the Commission reviewed information submitted and chose to provide general regulatory advice to trustees. This is standard practice in many cases and does not indicate wrongdoing, sanctions, or findings of misconduct. The so-called donation centre is definitely a dumping ground. I know people who have businesses in the same location. I also know in recent months the HMRC have been there numerous times, but haven’t been successful in gaining entry.
Well done to HCT for confirming what everyone knew, that they are not under investigation by the Charity Commission. I think Ms Ridsdale owes them a massive public apology for all the distress this has caused them. Carrie, the ‘special number’ in the front of the book is called the printers key or number line and refers to the print run of that particular edition. It does not mean the book is more valuable or special in any way.
I also don’t understand if you’ve just highlighted the fact that the book would make a lovely present or is vintage etc, that you would just throw it on the floor. I have spoken to Cash For Clothes today and they have confirmed they do not call JBB to pick up bags to sell in her shops. They stated all bags are sorted and taken to distribution warehouse to be sold on Africa etc and also contacted we buy any clothes and they also advise do not give bags away but once sorted they sometimes sell on to second hand shops to resell but certainly don’t give away for free. I really think Environmental Health should visit her Pontypool shop. It’s absolutely crammed to the ceiling! Her so called Food Bank is partially hidden by tons of tat, which is a health concern. You cannot navigate the shop safely and it most certainly seems like a fire hazard in there. I cannot believe that she has previously stated that she passes all the Fire Brigade visits. It’s a wonder her landlord hasn’t stepped in and told her to put her shops in order.
The Pontypool shop is a Grade 2 listed building and she has totally destroyed it!

If Ms Ridsdale is claiming PIP then I think she needs a review! She manages to work all hours and manages to move heavy items, including tables and chairs in and out of her shops. She lifts heavy boxes of toiletries on to high shelves, and her knees miraculously recover when she is walking around the streets videoing people. Considering she claims to be seriously ill and palliative she is incredibly fit. I’m sure the DWP (PIP) will be very interested to see her in action in all her videos!
