Nicola Williams, 46, from Caerau, was the founder of the now-closed registered charity Cwtch-Up (1194295). She has decided to go public with evidence which she says raises serious concerns about the way food and clothing donations were being handled by another group, Jayne’s Baby Bank.
During the year Cwtch-Up was active, Nicola states the charity delivered more than 200,000 meals locally. She says her decision to speak out was driven by the risk posed to her own organisation and by the behaviour she witnessed.
The material she has provided includes screenshots of conversations, social media posts, photographs of donated goods, and email exchanges. These date back to 2022 and have been shared by Williams in her role as a whistleblower.
“I was pressured to take part, and I refused. My charity was at risk, and when I started to push back, the threats and lies began. This isn’t about helping families – it became about power and control.”
1. Food and Goods in Large Quantities
Photographs show large amounts of food packed into green crates — tins, packets, and bottles stacked in cars and inside homes. One image shows a woman crouched down in front of crates in a hallway, inspecting tins.
“They have to make 2 journeys so I have to contain my excitement 😂.”
“They wanted to go down last night but I said they can’t because she will report them for stealing. But I said if anyone can convince her it would be Keli. I told her do what it takes.”
“Shssssds 🤫.”
2. Disputes Over OLIO Collections
Screenshots from OLIO, the food-sharing app, show that a user named Cerii had her collection privileges revoked:
“Cerii, your collection has come to an end… you will be removed from this group… Cerii has ended their collection with immediate effect.”
In a Messenger exchange, Jayne lists family members:
“Cerri Price. Dan James Price. Gareth Saunders. That’s my kids’ names.”
Clarification on identities: The account “Cerii Price” refers to Jayne Price, whose real name is Carrie Anne Ridsdale. The name “Dan James Price” refers to her son, Daniel James, also known as Daniel Ridsdale. This confirms that the OLIO collection account “Cerii” was directly tied to Carrie Anne Ridsdale (operating as Jayne) and her immediate family.
“Cerii may have taken it already, warn her. Her One Stops are saying the same too.”
3. Public Threats and Intimidation
Jayne’s Baby Bank’s Facebook page features a post targeting another individual, showing a photo of food crates in a car with an edited image of a man making an obscene gesture.
“Unlucky bitch! My volunteers took that food from under your nose! I don’t care who you are, if you are sitting on this food and not feeding vulnerable people with it… I’m coming for you.”
Text overlaid on the image itself states:
“Unlucky bitch you have no idea who I am.”
4. Private Disputes and Denials
In private Messenger chats, Jayne responds to accusations with laughter and denial.
“Lmao I havnt. Shut up is that what she said to you 😂😂😂.”
“Why would I lie. I’ve got two accounts myself.”
5. Risk to Charities
Nicola, in several messages, expresses concern about her own registered charity being implicated:
“I’m not doing any more. My charity is at risk. So get Deb — she’s not a charity and has nothing to lose.”
“I’m not taking it, I’m under investigation.”
Jayne replies with apparent indifference:
“I just asked her now. What’s the update with them?”
6. References to Police and Social Services
In a separate message exchange, Jayne writes:
“Police have referred me to social services. Do you think that’s because they arrested me and fucked up big time?”
7. International Donations
Another screenshot shows Jayne discussing aid collections:
“If any Ukraine stuff gets dropped off to you and you haven’t got room keep it for me coz we have a second appeal down here.”
Emails between Nicola and an independent contact (“Sherlock”) add further detail. Sherlock emailed Nicola after seeing a post by Jayne’s Baby Bank asking for sponsorship of a shipping container to support “Mothers in Uganda.”
The post claimed:
“Any companies or members of the public that would like to sponsor a shipping container rent for 1 year at a time – to collect and store for Mothers in need in Uganda?… We have been doing this unofficially for 5 years… Mother in Uganda need car seats, bottles, clothes, nappies, washable nappies and everything else a Mum also needs.”
Nicola strongly denied involvement:
“No not involved in any of her dodginess. She got involved with my Ukraine stuff and I think she used the Uganda thing so she could get away with stealing my donations.”
She added:
“I don’t believe she had any contacts or sent anything to Uganda. She said it to one up Ukraine. She needed shipping containers to fill with the stuff she was hoarding. She bought a 7.5-ton box lorry that wasn’t running — it was parked by her house at one point.”
Nicola also alleged:
“She had made a letter headed paper and written a letter to give to businesses to collect stuff for me to take to Ukraine. I told her countless times to stop cos she was using my charity number and keeping the donations herself.”

- Public posts containing threats and abusive language aimed at others.
- Private exchanges where Nicola states her charity was at risk, while Jayne continues to push for involvement.
- Mentions of police and social services involvement from Jayne herself.
- References to Ukraine and Uganda donations being diverted or misrepresented.
