Name variation and why it matters

The judgment is not recorded under the name used most in her public fundraising and promotion. It is registered under “Ceri-Ann Ridsdale”, while the same person trades and presents herself mainly as “Jayne Price”. The electoral roll for 2013 to 2016 shows Carrie A Ridsdale at a Blackwood address, and a driving licence she posted shows Jayne-Anne and Price.

Together these make a pattern of names connected to the same operation and public persona:

People can lawfully change names, use preferred names, or adopt different spellings. Several similar-but-different names across court records, tenancy enforcement, electoral registration and public trading affect:

The safeguard is simple: publish the legal name used for liabilities and registrations, and how it relates to any trading names used to ask the public for money.

Commercial lease: composite legal identity

A commercial lease for a shop, dated January 2023, adds to the pattern. The lease names the tenant as:

• Tenant: Miss Jayne-Anne Carrie-Anne Ridsdale
• Tenant’s address: 7 Meadow Road, Springfield, Blackwood, NP12 2AG
• Property: 5 Crane Street, Pontypool, NP4 6LY
• Date: 17 January 2023

It puts the Price-style forename (“Jayne-Anne”), the Carrie-Anne name and the Ridsdale surname into a single composite legal name, on one formal tenancy document. That undermines any suggestion that the Price and Ridsdale names belong to different people: the same person uses them interchangeably in formal legal settings. It also makes the judgment and the eviction records, both under Ridsdale spellings, more relevant to anyone giving money to “Jayne Price”.

Regulatory filing under the “Jayne Price” identity

A food business registration submitted to Caerphilly County Borough Council on 24 February 2024 shows:

So the same operation was presented to a local council under the name Jayne Price, while the court judgment, the Aberbargoed lease and notice, the electoral roll and the Pontypool lease all carry Ridsdale names. For donors, regulators, platforms and partners, being able to trace liabilities, enforcement and registrations to one consistent legal identity is a basic due-diligence requirement.

PayPal donation page: a hybrid name for fundraising

Her PayPal donation page, @jaynesbabybank, adds another variant:

• Account name shown: Jayne R-Price
• Description: “Jayne’s Mother and Baby, Food Bank and Charity shop. 100% of profit goes towards the charity”

“R-Price” matches none of the names on the court, tenancy, electoral and council records set out here. It reads as a hybrid of the Ridsdale surname on those records and the Price surname used in public. So donations are being asked for under yet another variant, different from the judgment (Ceri-Ann Ridsdale), the electoral roll (Carrie A Ridsdale), the Pontypool lease (Jayne-Anne Carrie-Anne Ridsdale) and the council filing (Jayne Price). It also describes the business as a charity, which it is not.

“Carrie Ann” on her own video

This pattern is not new. In August 2025 she showed, in one of her own videos, papers about a Torfaen business rates summons. One, from HM Courts & Tribunals Service, is addressed to “Miss Carrie Ann…” (Carrie Anne Slips Up Live: Real Name, Real Penalties). It ties the Carrie Ann(e) name, the one on the electoral roll and the Pontypool lease, to enforcement against the business.

The Aberbargoed notice: the same name across properties

On 30 November 2023 the landlord’s agents took back the former Aberbargoed unit. Their “Take Notice”, fixed to the door, is addressed to “Ms Ceri-Anne Ridsdale”, Unit 35 Bowen Industrial Estate, Pengam Road, Aberbargoed. The lease for that unit, signed in June 2022, reads “SIGNED as a deed by CERI-ANN RIDSDALE” (our report on the signature): the same spelling as the judgment.

So the Ridsdale name is not incidental or historical. It is tied to her home address, her former shops and her court-registered debts.

Driving licence posted publicly

She has publicly posted a picture of her driving licence. The readable parts of the name are “MISS JAYNE-ANNE” and “PRICE”; parts of both name lines were scribbled out before it was posted. The address shown is 7 Meadow Road, the address on the judgment.

Taken together with the electoral roll, the judgment and the Aberbargoed notice, the picture is not “one spelling difference”, but a repeated pattern of different names where the public would reasonably expect clarity.

A second judgment

On 27 January 2026 a second County Court Judgment was registered: £277, case M3DP9X7A, Civil National Business Centre, against “Miss Carrie-Anne Ridsdale” at 7 Meadow Road, Pontllanfraith. It is also shown as unsatisfied. The same address now carries judgments under both “Ceri-Ann” and “Carrie-Anne” (dossier, Finding 19).

Why this pattern is a public-interest concern

One name variation might be dismissed as clerical. Several different names used across public trading, residential records, court proceedings, tenancy enforcement and government-issued identification create a much higher risk. Where donations are being asked for and public trust is being invoked, using several personal names and trading names:

• undermines donors’ informed consent;
• complicates due diligence;
• obscures accountability;
• creates avoidable regulatory and safeguarding risk.
