The logo for ‘JAYNE’S BABY BANK & CHARITY SHOP‘ is currently registered under the UK Intellectual Property Office under registration number UK00003910000. However, there appears to be a potential issue regarding the origin of the artwork used within the logo.
The image above (left) displays the currently registered logo. On the right is a highly similar design sourced from Shutterstock, a well-known stock image provider.
Shutterstock enforces strict licensing policies concerning the use of its imagery for logos or trademarks. Although its standard license permits royalty-free usage across a wide range of applications, its official policy—outlined here—clearly states that an Enhanced or Exclusive licence must be obtained to use any image in a logo, trademark, or service mark.
In the absence of evidence confirming the acquisition of such a licence from the original artist or Shutterstock, questions may arise about the validity of the logo’s trademark status.
