During a livestream on July 16th, 2025, Jayne’s Baby Bank made the following public statement regarding its business name:

So I’ve been authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to use our sensitive business name. It’s been agreed it’s a sensitive business name, but I can use it.

This claim builds upon a series of previous statements by Carrie-Anne Ridsdale, also known as “Jayne Price,” concerning alleged authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to use the term “charity” in the organisation’s trading name. These past assertions present a timeline of inconsistent messaging, leading to public confusion and regulatory concern.

Of particular concern is a now-deleted video in which Ms Ridsdale states that Jayne’s Baby Bank is “the only charity in Great Britain that’s been authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to use the word charity in our title.” This is demonstrably false. The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate charities nor authorise charitable status or naming conventions of this kind.

Our name has been authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, Jayne’s Baby Bank and charity shops. Plus they’ve authorised other names that we use. We’re the only charity in Great Britain that’s been authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to use the word charity in our title.

Discrepancies and Regulatory Clarification

The FCA does not regulate or authorise charities, nor does it assign charitable status to organisations or permit the use of “charity” in a business name on its own. In the UK, the right to use the word “charity” in a registered name is regulated by the Charity Commission for England and Wales, and in some cases, by Companies House (for registered businesses and CICs).

According to the FCA’s own documentation, authorisation applies only to entities operating within financial services—such as banks, lenders, investment firms, or credit unions. A baby bank or retail outlet does not fall under FCA jurisdiction unless engaging in financial activity requiring approval (e.g. consumer credit or investment advising).

Misrepresenting authorisation by a statutory regulator, especially in the context of a charitable enterprise or donation-based business, may be considered misleading under UK consumer protection law. If these statements are made publicly in a way that could influence donations or grant access to financial concessions, they risk breaching the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.

You can review all recorded references to the Financial Conduct Authority via our dedicated transcript tool: Search: “Financial Conduct Authority”.

Important Reminder

As of the date of publication, Jayne’s Baby Bank is not listed as a registered charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. No confirmed records exist showing approval by the FCA in any formal capacity relevant to charitable operation, naming conventions, or financial conduct.

We caution members of the public to exercise due diligence when engaging with any business that presents itself as a registered charity or implies formal authorisation without supporting documentation. If you’re uncertain, please verify registration status using official portals:

Closing Remarks

Whether by intent or misunderstanding, the repeated claims of being “FCA authorised” to use the term “charity” in a trading name are inaccurate and misleading. In light of the deletion of video evidence and contradictory messaging over time, this pattern raises concerns about transparency, regulatory awareness, and the ethical stewardship of public trust.

Public-facing organisations—especially those collecting money, goods, or support from communities—bear a legal and moral responsibility to communicate with accuracy and accountability.

    1. So according to her ‘memories’ today she was a charity shop in 2023 and 2024 but now she says she’s not yet she still has charity shop painted on her shop wall! I’m confused!!

  1. Unsigned: https://jaynesbabybank.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/5-Crane-Street-Lease-2023-Unsigned.pdf

Just a friendly reminder that we have Carrie-Anne’s Pontypool rental contract on file, should she dispute her name. This is primarily for the FCA investigation team’s reference.

The Agent is: Angelina White of Premier Properties 11 -13 Crane Street Pontypool NP4 6LY
The Tenant is: Jayne-Anne (Alias) Carrie-Anne Ridsdale of 7 Meadow Road, Springfield, Blackwood, NP12 2AG
The subject property is all of: 5 Crane Street Pontypool NP4 6LY
Start date of lease: 17th January 2023
End date of lease: 16th January 2026
    Use allowed: Retail
The rent is: £4,800.00 per annum (£400.00 per calendar month)
    When rent payable: Monthly

This property was up for auction, which is how we acquired the contract. What will be interesting is whether she leaves the property come January if there is a price increase, and how she will frame that to suit her agenda. However, if a favourable rate (as she currently has) is extended, she would likely renew the contract, provided the landlord is willing to do so.

    S

    1. After reading through the contract, Ms Ridsdale is breaching said contract on at least two points:-

4.5 Not to display any advertisements on the outside of the property or which are visible from the
outside unless the landlord consents (and the landlord is not entitled to withhold that consent
      unreasonably);
4.6 Not to overload the floors or walls of the property:

The pavement outside her Pontypool shop is an absolute eyesore, and the floors and walls inside the shop are totally overloaded!

I agree with you Sherlock, I think towards the end of the year she will start to moan about her landlord and make out that she’s leaving of her own accord, but I understand her landlord, Ms White, is a very tough cookie who doesn’t stand for any messing from her tenants.
      Watch this space!

Nearly two grand now, he wants for that.
    It’s double that.
I don’t even think he’s a registered landlord because he was all about taking me to court when he remembered the Supreme Court for gutting my own shop of my own stuff.
    Yeah, and he bothered.
    I don’t even think he’s a registered landlord.
I think he’s… I think it’s all done under the books, like under the table sort of thing.

There are comments about some of the grants and her holidays, but also this:

But for the abuse that I had of one of your other sons.
    From RCV.
    On the lane.
Because all the men in your family seem to have a problem with women.
    Has that been…
Is the charity commission fully aware?
Of what’s happening with your son?
    Sexually assaulting somebody?
Are they fully aware that you’re employing all your family?
To run all of these charitable buildings?
You know, there’s definitely a conflict of interest there.
Definitely a couple of conflicts of interest.
And what did Heidi Thomas say?
    Oh, RCV.
    No lovely little RCV.
    No lovely little Tara.
    Oh yeah, lovely, isn’t it?
    Absolutely lovely.
    Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, I was always told Be careful who you knock off on your way to the top.

You should be very careful about making accusations of sexual assault, especially when the original post making the claim was later deleted. Sharing or repeating such claims can have serious legal consequences. You should also be aware of the laws surrounding defamation, victim anonymity in sexual offence cases, the Malicious Communications Act 1988, and Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003.

      1. Under the Motability Scheme terms, vehicles must be used “for the disabled person’s benefit”. Use for business, sub‑leasing, deliveries, or paid transport is explicitly prohibited and constitutes misuse. In response to concerns around misuse, Motability Operations confirmed that in the past year it investigated nearly 36,000 possible misuse cases, terminating vehicles for about 5,300 users—including scenarios where cars were used for unauthorized journeys such as school runs or commercial purposes.

        Basically, she isn allowed.

  3. Ms Ridsdale states in one of her ramblings today that she has never received a grant from anybody. She’s got a very short memory as she posted in December 2024 that she received a £1,000 grant from the council. Coincidentally her and Dan went on holiday to Egypt the following month! Might just be a coincidence but I doubt it as she didn’t mention anything in the run up to the holiday only when she was in the hotel in Egypt.

  4. Earlier Today: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19V18zJsag/
    Moments Ago: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1LAVDZZV8e/

I’m only pointing this out because of the earlier post. While we generally advise against sharing personal medical documents online, if you do choose to, please be aware that redacting with a black marker (even digitally) can often be reversed or seen through. In this case, the document reveals the following:

    Bowel Prep Quality: Unacceptable
    Boston Bowel Score: 1 (Poor)
    WHO/ECOG Performance Status: Grade 2

    An ECOG Grade 2 indicates:
“The patient is ambulatory and capable of all self-care but unable to carry out any work activities. They are up and about more than 50% of waking hours.”

However, Carrie-Anne has publicly stated on multiple occasions that she works 20 hours a day, seven days a week. Also worth noting: opioids such as Morphine, which are often prescribed for pain, are known to cause constipation.

    – S

    1. I’m not surprised her bowel prep was poor, you need to follow a low fibre diet for at least 3 days prior to the colonoscopy but she went out and ate a large carvery on Monday night and I bet she didn’t take her bowel prep. Just wasting an appointment!
To me that report states that her colon is normal.

      1. We used our tool to reveal the blacked-out text at the bottom. She is now scheduled for another scan with extended bowel preparation. Health requires discipline—unless one chooses, for whatever reason, to remain unwell. I suspect she isn’t sleeping well—I wonder why. Posting at 4:30 in the morning can’t be a good sign.

        Look familiar? 😉

        1. I don’t understand why these legitimate charities are taking all this abuse from her. Surely they can do something to stop this vile woman.

          1. She is now charging £5 for too good to go bags. Which contain 6 food items. Pretty sure she’s spent the last 3 years slagging off ACTUAL charities for doing this. Total hypocrite!

        2. That text also states the procedure today was abandoned. Likely because her bowl prep was poor.. considering she is an ‘experienced nurse’ in every aspect of medical practice (LOL) she should have known better, ha ha ha.

She’s an absolute financial drain on the NHS! That appointment today could have gone to someone who needs it and who takes their health seriously! Not Carianne Ridsdale!

          1. You have to register your business on the Too Good to Go website, which I doubt she has! So she is technically using their trademarked name to sell food, hypocrite comes to mind.

          2. The Pontypool store does not appear as registered in the system, which means there is no automated payment facility in place. Upon checking, it seems payments are being made manually via bank transfer to the JBB SumUp bank account. Please assess this situation as you see fit.

            Kind regards,
            S

    2. Carrie must have seen my post here and decided to delete it. Just so you know, we have backups. Be more mindful next time, Carrie. Your health is important, but oversharing won’t help you in the long run.

      Take this as a courtesy.

      S

    3. Have you seen the latest ramblings of the mad woman. She spends 2 minutes and 53 seconds going on and on about how she isn’t a charity… but then at the 2 min 54 sec mark says she runs a charity… what an absolute idiot!!

      1. We’ve had a quick look, and as usual, it’s nothing but nonsense. We won’t waste our time addressing every one of her lies, but I do want to highlight one thing: the video was filmed in the Caerphilly shop, and while commenting on her charity status, she refers to a sign above the shop stating that they are not a charity but a fundraising store. Yet, in that very same shop, on 3 June 2025, she claims to be the only authorised FCA charity in the UK.

        Video: https://youtu.be/2c69Y_dS9NI

Personally, I find it appalling how she continually uses Chloe as a prop throughout the video to validate herself.

        S

    4. Her latest post says that she has set up the baby bank/food bank/ daylight robbery shops without council grants but I’m pretty sure on several occasions she’s said she’s had help off the councils??

  5. Funny how Ms Ridsdales latest tirade where she is yet again berating her poor volunteers about her books has suddenly disappeared.

      1. I see Ms Ridsdale has been to the hospital today and her test has confirmed what everyone thinks, she is full of sh*t!

        1. We noticed she’s using a lot of filters on her face, to the point that she’s completely unrecognisable in one of the photos. This is most likely because she wants to hide certain features and is also looking to use her Facebook following to launch a new product line as a makeup influencer.

          S

  6. I’ve been watching this evil woman for a very long time. Sherlock you are finally breaking her . Add Swansea and carry on your amazing work bringing her down.

    1. Just wow wow wow ! Lie after lie after lie. She is absolutely shocking and no shame helping mother’s and babies she is definitely not! The woman is unhinged.
      Carry on Sherlock 👌

  7. Morning everyone,

I wanted to share some recent analytics highlighting the growing viewership of our website following the backend improvements we implemented for SEO and sitemap indexing. These enhancements are now benefiting not just standard pages, but also transcribed videos and other content types.

    Image: https://jaynesbabybank.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/ANALYTICS.png

As you can see, viewership has been steadily increasing month by month. The top five locations by view count are:

    1. London
    2. Cardiff
    3. Caerphilly
    4. Bargoed
    5. Blackwood

    Best regards,
    S

    1. Ms Ridsdale is contradicting herself yet again. In her latest video where she is videoing the Blackwood shop she states to Chloe, “that’s why he wanted us out”, yet she is constantly saying that she left of her own accord. A good liar has to have a good memory.

  8. I’m a bit confused. I didn’t think that ‘food banks’ paid for an online shop to be delivered to people who use a food bank, but yet again Ms Ridsdale is posting details of an online shop that she is saying she paid for for a user of her ‘food bank’. She really is deluded!! Obviously just a receipt for her own shopping. When is she going to realise that normal people are not as thick as her!

    1. Is this regarding the November 2023 receipt she shared? We do have recordings from her earlier streams where she mentioned paying for some food deliveries, though the delivery address listed was her home postcode. I don’t consider this an automatic red flag for deception, as it’s entirely possible she just hadn’t updated the delivery address at checkout.

      S

  9. Lmao not even registered on the FCA website, just looked.
Omg what is she smoking 🤣🤣
Taking advantage of vulnerable adults if not ok in any book.
How much did she gastric band cost from the jbb funds?

    1. I’ve checked too, definitely not registered with the FCA in any shape or form!
She is a true pathological liar, as she believes every word she utters is the truth!
