In recent days, the notorious fake charity operation known as Jaynes Baby Bank—fronted by Carrie-Anne Ridsdale (alias Jayne Price)—has come under renewed scrutiny. The police have become involved following allegations of online abuse targeting a disabled mother and her child.
During questioning, Ridsdale falsely told police she did not have a Facebook account. However, authorities later reviewed a livestream video [backup] —posted to Facebook—where Ridsdale herself later referred to the police visit during a subsequent livestream, inadvertently exposing her earlier denial as a lie. The matter remains under police investigation.
Dangerous Misinformation About Social Services
More concerning than the abusive behaviour is Ridsdale’s sustained campaign to undermine social services. In public posts and livestreams, she has actively encouraged mothers to avoid seeking help through official channels. Instead, she promotes her unregulated “baby bank” and food service—operated under the false guise of being a licensed and authorised support provider.
Ridsdale has previously claimed she is authorised to make referrals to social services on behalf of mothers in need. To verify this, we contacted social services directly. As expected, officials confirmed she is not a recognised referral point, and holds no authority to act on their behalf—despite her public assertions.
This type of misinformation is dangerous. Social services exist to safeguard vulnerable families and children. Suggesting otherwise actively deters those in need from accessing proper, trained, and accountable support.
On June 1st, 2025, the following public statement was made by Ridsdale via the fake charity shop’s Facebook page:
Can we remind donators that we are a self referal baby bank and baby and child foodbank.
There are many other baby banks but Mothers need a referal from a health practitioner to access and run the risk of being reported to social service. Many of our Mothers have reported to us that after they ask for a referal from a health practioner social services come knocking at their doors asking to check their cupboards for food ect. This puts our Mothers off asking for help.
I AM A QUALIFIED HEALTH PRACTIONER, I can make the decision if Mothers need help. I trust my Volunteer Managers to help Mothers. We work on a self referal good will basis.
When I was training to be a nurse at Cardiff University I went out on placement with the health visitors. My mentor was an older, wiser health visitor with life experience. She told me she doesn’t report every little thing back to social services because she needed her Mothers to trust her and come to her with every little or big problem. That’s the best advice I took away from my nursing training.
And that’s why we are a self referal baby bank and child and baby foodbank, because we don’t need a ‘middle man’ and we can focus on the most important aspect. Helping other Mothers provide security for their children without the finacial implications or social services rocking up at the door.
Mothers want and need help from other mothers not referals. Please choose wisely who you donate too.
In a livestream broadcast on June 3rd, 2025 [backup], Ridsdale reinforced these ideas in even starker terms:
We need children’s and baby clothes. Like I said, there are other baby banks out there, but they go through a healthcare professional.
I’m a qualified healthcare professional in several ways, okay?
If you go through a professional, you’ll probably get referred to social services just for asking for help. And our mothers don’t want that. Last thing they want is the Gestapo turning up on their doorstep, threatening to take their kids, going through their kitchen cupboards, and counting their nappies.
You’re welcome to donate to other baby banks—but we are self-referral.
Ridsdale, also known as Jayne Price, is not an activate registered nurse. A simple search on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) database and SCWOnline confirms this. Her repeated claims of being a “qualified healthcare professional” are unsubstantiated and misleading with zero proof ever shown. On the 18th of July, 2023, Carrie-Anne claimed;
School reports due out. Don’t worry – GCSEs – don’t worry.
I went to Uni at 39 and got my degree and diploma in nursing and biochem! 🧬🧫🧪💊🩺💉 And now I’m doing a PhD and running a charity.I was accepted to every uni I applied to with unconditional offers.
Life is too short to worry about how well you are performing against others. Your path will find you.
More bogus claims [source]
By spreading distrust in social services and falsely claiming professional authority, she not only violates public trust—but potentially places vulnerable mothers and children at risk.
Her throwback to a mentor who “didn’t report every little thing” basically tells others it’s okay to ignore proper safeguarding. Painting social services as something to fear instead of support isn’t just reckless — it’s dangerous.
Sherlock.
So I have heard that the rumours are true that Ms Ridsdale is being evicted from her Blackwood shop.
Update: We’ve now reviewed the transcript from today’s livestream, in which she appears to be attempting to cover her tracks regarding the Blackwood property—shifting blame onto the landlord for allegedly not following proper protocol. Her remarks about the toilet are particularly ironic, given she has livestreamed while referencing our FOIA report on the property.

Interestingly, despite previously claiming that all designer and vintage items were sent to Blackwood due to it being their top-selling location, today’s livestream suggests the complete opposite.
She seems to be repeating a familiar pattern: one shop opens, another closes. It’s only a matter of time before it all unravels.
AI analysis concluded:
“It seems highly likely the individual is either already facing eviction or trying to preemptively control the narrative around a failing location or lease. Indicators include:
-Complaining publicly about the landlord and lease terms.
-Spinning a positive outlook on moving (“destined for the high street”).
-Describing the current space as unsuitable despite initially advocating for it.
-Inconsistencies about what was promised and what was contractually agreed.
Use of ambiguous language regarding the nature of the business (e.g., charity vs. retail).”
