The logo for ‘JAYNE’S BABY BANK & CHARITY SHOP‘ is currently registered under the UK Intellectual Property Office under registration number UK00003910000. However, there appears to be a potential issue regarding the origin of the artwork used within the logo.
The image above (left) displays the currently registered logo. On the right is a highly similar design sourced from Shutterstock, a well-known stock image provider.
Shutterstock enforces strict licensing policies concerning the use of its imagery for logos or trademarks. Although its standard license permits royalty-free usage across a wide range of applications, its official policy—outlined here—clearly states that an Enhanced or Exclusive licence must be obtained to use any image in a logo, trademark, or service mark.
In the absence of evidence confirming the acquisition of such a licence from the original artist or Shutterstock, questions may arise about the validity of the logo’s trademark status. While the image may be publicly viewable on a stock platform, that does not automatically confer rights to use it in a registered trademark.
We make no legal assertion here but note the importance of due diligence in registering commercial marks, particularly when derived from stock imagery.
As we enter the new year, our design team is pleased to offer a fully royalty-free alternative logo for community use:

I’ve been following this very closely.
Sherlock – the work you’ve put into this site is incredible.
Working within the third sector and being asked genuine questions from people about this person I feel I can answer with confidence.
The Facebook ramblings – the way she attacks anyone who questions her – and then accuses genuine organisations of wrong doing. The net is closing in on Carrie and speaking on behalf of all registered organisations – it can’t come quick enough.
Anyway, surely she can’t trademark a Shutterstock image? (I’ve had a deep dive through the site and all the comments and just wanted to show my support – plus this should help your site’s SEO when people search for JBB (and charity shop) 💖
We’re already on top of the SEO side, with a custom search engine, sitemap indexing, and more in place. Visibility will continue to grow in the coming months as these elements are gradually drip-fed for full indexing. We have around 10,000 transcripts to store, all managed through custom code we’ve developed in-house.
Example search: https://www.google.com/search?q=Sammy+Arnold+and+Mums
Sitemap: https://jaynesbabybank.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Sitemap.png
We’ve also built a custom scraper to automate much of this workflow:
Demo: https://jaynesbabybank.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Automation.mp4
Our automation system routinely monitors the Facebook page, harvests posts, downloads and transcribes videos, and uploads them to our transcript engine automatically. We have extensive automation running in the background. If created commercially, this would be worth five figures, but for protecting local mothers and the valleys, it’s priceless.

As well as trying to pass off a generic shutterstock image as their own original trademark, I’m wondering if the text “& charity shop” is also included in the ‘protected’ trademark image?
It seems misleading, as Jaynes Baby Bank is not listed on the charity commission website.
The image is also registered on the trademark website as class 36, which states “Charitable fund raising”.
Hello Eddie,
Please note that the trademark includes the Charity Shop reference line as part of its design. You can verify this at:
