Public Health Claims

Statements made publicly by Carrie-Anne Ridsdale (also known as Jayne Price), operator of Jayne’s Baby Bank, between 2022 and 2026.

This page collects the physical and health conditions Carrie-Anne Ridsdale has described publicly on her own pages and channels over several years, with the date of each statement. The claims are recorded here because they are not private: they are made to a public audience, they are used to draw attention and support to a business and charity that solicits donations and customers from that public, and they are used when giving health advice to others.

Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and nothing on this page establishes that any statement is false. The purpose is to set out what has been said, when it was said, and where the statements conflict with one another — so that they can be checked properly by the people entitled to check them.

These are public statements, not verified diagnoses. Carrie-Anne Ridsdale may hold every condition recorded here. Serious illness is common, and people describe their own health imprecisely without any intention to mislead. This page does not assert deception, and no entry should be read as doing so.

Why the statements are recorded. They are not incidental. They are made publicly and repeatedly to an audience that is asked to donate, to shop, and to volunteer; they appear in appeals for help, in responses to criticism, and in a stated benefits context; and they are used alongside claimed nursing and midwifery training when giving health advice to mothers and other vulnerable people. Health information used in that way stops being a private matter and becomes something the public has a legitimate interest in being able to check.

What is not reproduced here. Carrie-Anne Ridsdale has also made public statements about self-harm. Those are recorded in the underlying material but are not quoted on this page, in line with established reporting guidance on named living individuals. The omission is noted here rather than made silently, so the record is not misrepresented as complete.

Identifiers. No links to the original platform posts, no post or video identifiers, no attachments and no profile handles appear anywhere on this page. References such as P-9127 are internal record numbers only and do not resolve to anything online.

Corrections. Every entry carries a date and a record reference so that any item can be identified precisely and corrected or removed if it is wrong. See right of reply.

Why the claims matter, in six parts

Each of these is evidenced below. None of them depends on any statement being untrue — they concern the effect of the statements as made.

Clinical authority invoked when advising the public

Nursing and midwifery training is cited when giving health advice to mothers, when explaining her own diagnosis, and when handling naloxone. This is what turns a set of personal health statements into a safeguarding question: the same claims are used to position the speaker as a clinical authority over people who are themselves vulnerable.

This is one of the reasons we don't need baby blankets. Anyone can open a baby bank but not everyone has the qualifications to work with babies and children. I do as part of my nursing training at Cardiff University and mandatory midwifery hours and labour ward and theatre hours. I also did mandatory training with the Health Visitors in Brynmawr. I also have 12 years experience working in an educational behavioural unit for children with SEN, Aspergers, ADHD and Autism. Don't cover babies in blankets and loose m…

Stated incapacity while responsible for a public premises

Seizure, hypoglycaemic, anaphylaxis and opioid claims all describe episodes occurring while running premises open to the public, including a third-party account of incapacity on the shop floor.

So I'm in late this morning because I've had to go to the GP, because the only tablets that I've got are old prescription ones, the chlorphenamine, and ones that I bought years ago. Self-administered intravenous medication at home

A claim to be running IV paracetamol at home sits directly alongside the clinical-authority claims and is unusual enough to warrant clarification.

Claims made in benefit, fundraising and dispute contexts

The most serious status claims — palliative category, 'classed as terminal', bone marrow transplant needed — appear in posts requesting help, in responses to critics, and in a stated DWP context. That does not make them untrue; it does mean they carry consequences and should be recorded with their context.

Escalation of the account over time

From 'massive tumour and aplastic anaemia … a rare blood and bone marrow cancer' in 2022, through sepsis, neutropenia and angiogenesis in 2025, to 'classed as terminal' and a stated need for bone marrow transplant in 2026.

I found the ct scan missing from my medical records in 2019, 2020 they started treating me with tumor suppressors and then the pandemic hit and they binned me off treatment. That's when I collapsed, developed sepsis because I was neutrapenic and my HB dropped to 63, I needed a triple blood transfusion and 4 iron infusions. Then I had operation to stop blood the blood surply to it because it had started angiogenesis. Waiting on updated ct scan. Hope it hasn't started angiogenesis again.

What other people say they were told

Published accounts record that multiple people were told of a stomach tumour or cancer — a condition that appears nowhere in the archive as a self-report. Third-party attribution is recorded separately and never merged with self-reported claims.

Where the account conflicts with itself

Statements placed side by side in date order, with no commentary beyond what is needed to see the conflict.

Is aplastic anaemia a cancer?

The same condition is described as a bone marrow cancer and, later, explicitly not a cancer. A published article makes the same correction. Nothing in the archive reconciles the two.

The figures are not stated in consistent units. Five of the six are in the range 63–139, which is g/L. One post states a fall “from 15 g/dL to 5 g/dL” — that is 150 g/L falling to 50 g/L. A haemoglobin of 50 g/L is a medical emergency, and it is reported four months before a figure of 139. As written, the series cannot all be correct in the units given. This may be no more than a unit slip; it is recorded because it is straightforward to clarify.

Recorded because it was put into the public domain by her, alongside the statements above.

An image published by Carrie-Anne Ridsdale and described by her as showing the tumour. Reproduced as published. JayneBabyBank.co.uk offers no interpretation of it: a single cross-sectional slice cannot establish that any finding is present or absent, and any reading of it is a matter for a qualified radiologist with access to the complete study and the clinical record.
This page draws no conclusion from any image. Readers should not treat imaging reproduced or referred to here as confirming or contradicting any statement. The checkable material on this page is the wording, the dates and the reported figures.

Steps that are not mentioned

A confirmed cancer diagnosis normally leaves a trail — a biopsy, a histology result, a stage or grade, a multidisciplinary team decision, and a named treating oncologist. This counts how often each appears in Carrie-Anne Ridsdale’s own public statements across the whole archive.

What this table does not establish. An absence of mention is not an absence of treatment. People do not narrate every appointment, and there are conditions and treatment routes which involve none of these steps. The table records what appears in the public account and nothing beyond it. It is included because that account is otherwise highly specific, naming hospitals, wards, drug doses and individual blood figures, and the contrast is left for the reader to weigh.

How this was compiled

Sources. Public posts, public video content and public captions from the pages and channels operated by Carrie-Anne Ridsdale and Jayne’s Baby Bank, together with previously published articles. 12,098 records were searched in total, covering 2022 to 2026.

Method. Each claim is a set of search terms run across every record. One entry is produced per matching record, with roughly 300 characters of surrounding wording so that no quote can be read out of context. Every record is then classified by who the statement is about.

Attribution. “Stated by her” means the wording contains a first-person construction. “Third-party account” and “general information” are shown but are never counted as statements about herself. That test is what excludes, for example, a rescue cat’s renal failure and a volunteer who is registered blind — both of which a plain keyword search would wrongly have recorded as health claims.

Limitations. Keyword matching produces false positives, so every quote is shown in full for the reader to judge. Video captions are automatically generated and contain mis-transcriptions; several medication names are clearly garbled. Dates are the dates of the original posts and videos. The absence of a record is not evidence that something did not happen — it means no public statement of it was found.

Withheld. 0 records containing references to self-harm are held back from this page. They exist and are recorded in the underlying material; they are not quoted here. No image, scan, test printout or letter is interpreted anywhere on this page.

Right of reply and corrections

If any entry on this page is inaccurate, incomplete or wrongly attributed, JayneBabyBank.co.uk will correct or remove it. Every entry carries a date and a record reference so that individual items can be identified precisely.

Carrie-Anne Ridsdale is invited to respond, and any response received will be published alongside the relevant entries. Almost everything recorded here could be resolved by ordinary documentation — a consultant letter, a copy of a result, or a correction of the record.

This page concerns public statements only. It makes no finding about the state of anyone’s health.
