Right, so as you can see we've been busy.
Dan's been busy.
Although we've still got some bits and bobs to sort out in here, it's starting to take shape.
That's a broom cupboard, nobody needs to go in it.
Leave it as it is please.
Right, so one of the complaints that I've had recently, obviously we've got more volunteers working for us now, so we will have issues that come up and everybody needs training.
This is stuff that needs to be repriced because it's wrong or hasn't been priced and needs cleaning.
Okay, so that'll go there under sheet leave that.
That's our new So not all the books have been priced, there's no point in bringing Donny up yet.
Where's the keys?
Right, so I'm still pricing, I'm still on the go, so there's nothing to do obviously.
Now, one of the problems you've got when we've brought up the staff is sometimes volunteers start freelancing.
They'll come in and they'll start messing around with stuff that somebody else has already done.
Right, yes that needs tidying up but it doesn't need redoing.
Right, it just needs tidying up.
You come in, you look at something like that, it's done.
Right, don't, I'm not just saying this shop, every shop, right, don't undo it.
Don't undo somebody else's work.
Don't come along and go I'm going to move all of that around because it's done.
If it's in a cabinet, it's done.
What we usually say to volunteers is don't take anything that's in a cabinet out.
It's been put in a cabinet because it's high risk.
Okay, so if you come in and you you have a choice of doing something like this, which is already done, leave that, move on to something that isn't done.
Check with your manager of your shop first before you do something.
Okay, because there's nothing worse than coming in and doing something and then somebody comes and takes it all apart and undoes it.
Okay, so at the moment in this particular shop we are just placing stuff but we're trying to put the expensive stuff or the high risk stuff in the cupboards.
Okay, or stuff that will get easily broken in cupboards so it doesn't get broken.
But it's the same across the board in all of the shops.
Alright, now if we put something in a window or in a cabinet, we've put it in there because it's high risk and it could get nicked.
The other thing is if we put toys in a cabinet is because they're more expensive they're vintage or collectible and it's easier for a mum to say to a child when they come in and they say oh I want that £15 Star Wars Mr. Potato Head.
Right, it's easier for them to say no that's a collectible come into the toy area which is cheaper.
Okay, so and the other thing is don't move furniture about without me knowing about it.
Okay, because if I come now and say for example all these cupboards are moved that's my fire routes have all been altered.
So I have to redo a plan and submit it.
Okay, so don't move any furniture, don't do anything.
For example, there was a rail in Pontypool the other day that was put there cleared, ready to put something on, turned around, full of pound claws and it wasn't for those items.
So then we have to take all the pound claws back off about 30 to 50 hangers put all the swimwear back on there.
And then come back in someone's taking the swimwear off it and then somebody's put the pound claws back on there.
It's a waste of time.
Only do what your managers are telling you to do.
Okay, especially if you're a volunteer don't price anything.
If you find anything you think is the wrong price a label ripped off or fallen off or un-priced then take it to the manager and they will sort it out.
If you come across something that's dirty it needs to be cleaned.
Don't leave it on the shop floor.
When volunteers come in it is you'll be coming in to clean, put stock out and make sure the areas are nice and tidy and the walkways are as clear as possible.
Anything else will be up to the manager to tell you what to do.
If you're hoovering in the middle of the day, which I'd rather you didn't, I'd rather you do it at the end of the shift or the beginning of the shift, then you need to have your health and safety sign out.
You should have your health and safety sign out anyway.
I always leave mine by the door.
So as soon as somebody comes in there's a health and safety sign they've seen it as soon as they come in.
So whether it's rain, sun, shine, leads out, kids, toys on the floor, the health and safety sign is there.
All right.
Now something else that seems to be happening is the coloured hanger system.
People are intercepting it and putting other stuff on different colour hangers.
Now these have come from Blackwood so that's happened in Blackwood shop.
So please don't use the coloured hangers for anything else other than the 50p clothes because that's where it comes in confusing to customers because we're telling them all the coloured hangers are 50p three for a pound and then they're picking up boutique items or knitted items which are not.
Right so can I remind everybody because we had a situation where we've had somebody turn up with a dog and kick off.
I don't know if he came in the shop and I mean his kicking off was worse than him with the dog coming in.
We don't have dogs in the shop.
The only time we have dogs in the shop is would be when we've opened our pet cafe which we've put on hold at the moment in Pontypool because a we need to open phase three because phase two which is the pet cafe is absolutely full of donations because everybody is so kind and generous.
So that's been a little bit delayed because obviously we've racking to build next and then you know then we're going to take on p3 and then you know me and sammy have already moved into p3
so we are a little bit delayed but i'm quite sure by the end of this year what are we now June by the end of this year i think we'll be looking pretty good again everything will be sorted and i mean the walkways in here are pretty good i can't believe how much We've got a lot of stock we've got in this shop.
I mean, you know us, we pack in a lot of stock anyway, don't we?
But we've nearly got Blackwood into this shop.
I can't believe it.
I really can't like, honestly.
Plus there was already stuff and don't forget we had a house clearance in here as well.
Plus we had already taken donations in here.
So I'm quite surprised with that.
How much we've got in.
It was quite deceiving this little shop, wasn't it?
It's like a TARDIS.
We'll have to put a TARDIS door on like we did in Blackwood.
My knees are bad tonight, but I think I've seen a tube of track salmon kicking about.
So I'm going to put that on.
I've just had some tablets.
Still got some room in the glass shelves, which is good.
I mean, you know, they were at Blackwood.
So they must have been quite empty really at Blackwood because we've squished a lot in there.
To be fair.
We've had lots of people come in and have a little browse tonight.
But we've had two with cash and we didn't have change so we said we can't do it, sorry.
And the shop next door didn't have change to do it.
I was hoping to get all of this priced, but I don't know.
Like, look, someone's priced that item there.
There's not even a pound sign on it.
No, please.
And that's not how we price them.
OK, I mean, that's vintage glassware anyway, so it should have been researched.
So it looks like Peter's writing to me.
Peter was changing prices on things so he could get about...
Oh, there's no...
Yeah, my biggest problem, Ray, right?
My biggest problem is the donations that we get.
Yeah, it is because we're so popular.
I mean, you've seen, you've seen the donations we get in.
So and this will be a problem, I think, here, because obviously it's quite full now and it'll be lovely.
We need a couple more shelves in our bathroom, another bookshelf, and then we might be able to dot some bits around, you know, here or there.
But when if somebody turns up with a car full of donations and then their mate turns up with a couple of donations and then somebody walks past with a bag full and then two cars turn up, that's it, isn't it?
You know, we're going to be full.
We might have to upload donations from here.
Like we do risk, because we can't get them in.
Can't get them all in.
But it's a lovely little shop.
There's this lovely little atmosphere about it.
It's really nice.
It really is, but my knees are bad now.
My knees are playing out a bit tired.
I was hoping to get it all priced and on because some of it isn't priced and then some of it's a bit dirty.
I'm like, well, who put those out in Blackwood shop?
You know, they shouldn't have gone out in that state because if they're sticky, that's not from the shop.
Dusty, yes, they'll get dusty in the shop, but sticky, they must have come in sticky.
That's what I'm thinking.
And yes, there is a discrepancy with some of the pricing in Blackwood shop, but I don't know whether it's stuff that's like been unearthed from big risker.
And then obviously we've had people in and they've started pricing and we've had to stop them because we stopped the staff pricing again previously.
Don't price anything.
Don't open any donations.
Don't price anything.
Leave it to the store manager to do.
And then we've had a couple of different pricing techniques as well with the books.
We've tried all the different things, so they got a couple of different stickers on.
But I think we're just trying to sell as much through as possible now.
And then perhaps we'll do a proper training session on the pricing.
But for now, leave it to me and Sammy for now.
We need a food bank fam now because we've had a few little items in, but not much.
But these baskets need to be emptied now because they are the food bank donation baskets.
So we need them empty so people can come in and just put their food in there.
But we'll get there.
Like I just got a box, but oh a rail.
One of our rails died.
It was on its way out anyway.
But they're all pound clothes, they are.
But they might need to... there is a rail in that back room.
So we might be able to hang them up in the back room for now.
We had curry and chips.
No, I went and got curry to go on top of the ones I had yesterday because they weren't a bit dry, but they were okay with the curry.
And then we had ice cream.
Got to be done.
I don't know if I'm going to get all this price now tonight.
And there's some items in there which I think that that box there has come up from Big Risk.
And we've only just unearthed it.
And it's got the other stickers on there, you know.
What?
Oh, I know.
And Sammy volunteered me to fold clothes.
We have done well.
You're a good folder.
Yes, you're a good folder.
I can't believe how much stock we've got in here.
I literally, like, I can't, you know, and still have walkways.
It's deceiving.
It's really deceiving this shop.
I'm so glad we've got it.
We're so lucky to have this one, I think.
You know.
Thank you to the admins of the Caerphilly groups that have deleted the post off those plebs.
We do appreciate it.
We know we've got a good following in Caerphilly.
Like I said, stay out of it.
Let me deal with it because I get paid on Facebook to deal with them.
So let me deal with it.
We know that they delete other people's comments.
They're trying to create a dialogue with people they are.
Well, if you want to find out about us, come into one of the shops.
Come and spend some time with us.
Come and do some volunteering with us.
Spend the day with Sammy because I'm pretty sure she's on a par with ours with me now.
Not enough time.
I say it's not enough.
Not enough time in the day.
We've been working since about nine.
We slept late.
We did.
So we will get it up later.
I've been working since about nine this morning without a break.
My knees are bad.
You might see how I go now because I really want to do this because obviously I don't want these.
I'd rather get these things out and on a shelf than them get broke because they're in storage.
We have had a few breakages, but it's inevitable, isn't it?
Yes, I know I am, Ray.
I know I am.
But that's because we do good stuff.
You know, you do good stuff, you get good stuff back.
And this shop just popped up out of nowhere, didn't it?
It had totally dropped off my radar, this one had.
We have been offered another shop in Bargert.
But I'm a little bit... got a lot going on at the moment.
So I'm a bit like... I don't know if I can.
And tomorrow I got the butt doctor.
At past 12, I got the butt doctor ringing me.
I haven't had a camera yet.
I've had cameras before and I'm looking forward to it.
But the butt doctor will ring me and ask me some questions at past 12 tomorrow.
So the shop is shut and you can see me in there.
That's why.
And then I've got some other stuff to sort out.
I've had cats with minor problems that we've had to deal with.
And where is this shop?
Oh, this one is Cuffilly, Pentriban Street, Emma.
This is our Cuffilly shop.
It's nice, isn't it?
I've got... where else have I got on?
I've got a couple of other things.
I can't think now if I've got my hair where I've got on.
Some things to sort and get on top of.
So I haven't dived on the shopping barge yet.
And that was good rent.
That was a good rent.
That was less than 300.
You know, maybe I'm a fool.
Maybe I should dive on that one.
And then I was sat here minding my own business, pricing my life away.
And a lady came to the doorway and she was like, Oh, are you the person who signed the lease?
Like I've stolen a shop and got all this stuff around me, right?
So I thought, Oh, is this my new health and safety officer now?
Because obviously, I'm fed up with my own, you know.
I can't believe that security guard rang her.
What is she going to do to stop me from leaving the shop?
And what was he going to do?
Stop me from trading on that day?
I thought she'd come down here tonight, to be honest, because she can be a bit aggravating.
I thought she'd be down here tonight, wouldn't she?
But she hasn't.
Anyway, I thought this woman...
Which plates?
Which plates are you looking at?
Emma, do you want me to bring them to Pontypool?
I don't know which plates you're looking at.
Those ones?
Or these?
Could be any plates, couldn't it?
I need to narrow it down a bit in our shop.
So she said, Oh, are you the person who signed the lease?
I was like, Huh?
I went, Yeah.
Because I thought, Oh, she's my health and safety officer.
She went, Oh, I'm really pleased.
I'm really pleased.
It's a nice shop.
Blah, blah, blah.
She's an estate agent from Cardiff.
Which plates?
I pointed at two.
The flowery ones.
Do you want me to bring them to Pontypool?
She said, Oh, I'm an estate agent from Cardiff.
She came back twice, right?
So she was telling me about, you know, being an estate agent and the rest of it.
And she was like, Well, would you take on somewhere else in Cardiff?
And would you take it on at a premium?
She said, Because I know you look, you look for a cheaper shop.
I can't believe it.
Right?
I'm being headhunted.
She was like, I know you look for a, you know, shop with good rent.
She said, Would you pay them yellow ones?
Them ones?
Like a beige?
Right?
Or them ones?
Let's clarify which plates.
I'm waiting on you now, Emma.
The flower ones or them ones?
I can't figure out which ones you want.
These.
I think they're all the same.
I need a white stone.
I've never seen these before.
I don't know where these come from.
Well, they come from Blackwood Shop, obviously, but I don't know where.
Why they were priced and why they were in a box.
I have no idea.
Um, if in doubt, I'll bring the two.
Yeah, she was like, But would you take on a shop with premium if it had all the fixtures and fittings in there?
And I was like, What am I to do?
I was like, I can't.
And then Dan came in.
He was like, All right.
He was like, Oh, look in just in case she was health and safety.
Oh, the flower ones.
Right.
OK.
Those ones.
Right.
These ones.
Right.
I'll put them at the door ready.
Yeah, they're lovely.
They are.
I don't know.
What are they?
You don't see it.
Royal Stafford.
Yeah.
All right.
Yes.
They're lovely.
And she was like, Yeah, yeah, well, because we have shops in Cardiff.
So I was like, Oh, we should be in Cardiff.
Never the end of the week.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I thought, Oh, my gosh.
I can believe that in a state agent.
I was like, Come on, I might see if I can try and squash in view in this shopping bar with me, because it is cheap for the rent.
Oh, tired.
Tired.
But I think the new reference kicking in now.
I might see if I can find that track down for my knees and crack on and see if I can get a few other things priced.
What's the time?
Is the night still young?
Oh, yes.
Ten o'clock.
Ten o'clock.
Easy.
Easy enough.
I were out of my life here or two in there.
It's nice because you can shut the roller shutter down.
Not keep the riff raff out and have the door shut the back door.
Because it was lovely in the day to have the back door.
But then when it gets a bit darker and drops in temperature, then it was a bit.
Oh, it's a bit cold.
Lock that one up, but it'd be nice because we'll get the patio set out there and then you can sit out there in the day, then have your break or whatever.
Be nice.
This I don't like all the stuff that's on this, so I think we might change that to crockery.
But I probably won't do it tonight.
I'll probably just price it and just get it up off the floor.
Yeah, don't unpack Steffie Blackwood, guys.
Because if he's packed it up, he's packed it up for a reason, because I've said to unpack that up, that's coming down next.
So that when I turn up and you've tipped out a box of stuff, I'm not ready to go then, am I?
You know, and we...
When we're moving stuff on Blackwood and Caerphilly, we're in a time battle against the traffic because obviously the Caerphilly traffic can be quite bad.
So we need to do it between half past nine and...
Somebody else's roller shutter going up right now.
We need to do it between half past nine.
I don't think...
Oh, I don't know about Pontypool shop.
Best bet is to ask Sammy, I would say, with our one in Pontypool, I don't know.
But we're on a time limit.
So I need to go fill the car and get going.
So I haven't got time to keep putting everything back in boxes.
So please, you know, I mean, you've had plenty of time to buy it in Blackwood shop.
You don't need to start tipping out bags and boxes looking for stuff, do you?
Once we've packed it up.
Yes, it's good.
I'm glad we've got our back room sorted.
I know there's still loads to do in the back room, but pretty good, isn't it?
It's looking pretty good, I think.
I'm going to just pack this lot away and then start again another day because there's plenty out in there already.
But I'm just worried about it getting broke because it's like glasses and stuff.
Didn't have many broken items.
Yes, Lizzie says, I don't know when, say thank you for offering to do that, and that's lovely.
Yeah, we've got stuff.
I mean, if you want to come tomorrow, there's a basket of jewelry.
I mean, obviously, I don't know what time your group is, but if you want to come tomorrow when the guys are here and take that basket of stuff, which is the jewelry and stuff, you're more than welcome to do that.
I don't know.
I don't know what to do.
I might put some away now and then start again another day.
I might do that.
