Right, so evening guys.
I just wanted to lay you into a secret.
A little secret.
Staff know.
Most of the staff know.
This is Pontypool Phase 2.
I always wanted this.
As soon as I found out where that door led to, I wanted this shop.
Alright?
And we had to wait to be able to afford it to do it.
So I've decided to do an experiment on the back of that.
Okay?
And as you can see, it is filling up.
You know, Pontypool Phase 2 is nearly full.
Every single item in Pontypool Phase 2.
Okay?
Except the guitars on the wall.
And half of the shoes, because half of them were our...
Oh my god, you're on this bit.
I think when we put the ramp by here, I think we'll put handrails as well.
I think we will.
Don't need them for a ramp, but I think we will.
Steps you're supposed to.
But I think we'll do that.
So every single thing in this shop.
Okay?
This is my experiment.
Okay?
Every single item in this shop that you see.
Because obviously we put the stock in there.
Every single item.
Not the furniture, and not the guitars, and half of the shoes.
Probably the ones you saw in the grid relay, because we have had shoes as well.
Every single thing is what other charity shops in Wales are checking out.
And they are the ones that have contacted us to say, do you want this stock?
Because we don't want it.
I'll let it sink in.
Because if we hadn't have accepted it, we wouldn't have this shop.
We wouldn't be able to pay for this shop.
And help more families.
And have all this stock to help the flood victims with.
If they need it.
We've given out stuff today.
Wouldn't be able to pay the bills for this shop.
And all of this would have gone into landfill.
Because they didn't want it.
And I'm quite sure that they probably offered it to the staff.
And said well take what you like out of that pile.
And whatever is left we'll bring Jayne when she'll come and get it.
Because she loves it.
She absolutely loves rescuing stuff.
And I'm not going to name the charity shops.
Because I'm grateful.
We're grateful they've done this.
But this is my experiment.
Some of the staff know it.
Not all of them do.
Some of them are probably sat there going.
She's saying no.
On Facebook.
Shut up it gets views.
We get paid on Facebook.
These things get views.
But you know it's the truth.
I'm not going to lie to you.
You know I am painfully true about things.
But every single thing that you see here is what other charity shops are throwing out.
Because I have cherry picked what's gone in this shop.
Everything that you see.
This was donated by a lady.
That and that.
No that wasn't.
That was donated by a lady.
And I think there's some things out there.
Other than that the rest of it was all for the bin.
So we've actually started a shop.
Running a shop.
Helping more families.
Being able to commit to helping the flood victims today.
Which was not on the cards obviously.
Nobody expected it to be that bad did they?
I said I wanted a showroom didn't I?
I should be more specific.
I should be more specific about what I want.
Because I tend to manifest it.
But everything else in this shop is what would have been thrown out.
By other charity shops that didn't want it.
And I'm very grateful that they've rang us.
And if there's any other charity shops out there that want to ring us.
And come and get it.
I will not name you.
Because they have said please don't name us.
And I've said no I won't.
I won't.
But I want you to be aware.
This is my experiment.
Look at them clogs.
I love them.
Why would you chuck them out?
Somebody will buy those clogs.
Honestly.
Every single item in here is what the other charity shops don't want.
Vintage, collectibles.
You name it.
We got it.
I always tell people come to us first and ask.
That's lovely isn't it?
What size is that?
Oh it's got a 16 on it.
Oh that's nice isn't it?
Pound.
I mean staff get it for 25p.
I don't know if it'd suit me.
It's nice though isn't it?
I always have some booty for staff in mind.
Somebody said about the baby clothes today.
I was like oh yeah absolutely.
But like I said it's sub par for them.
They don't have it in their charity shops.
They have certain regulations.
I mean it's all...
We can sell it all.
It's all sellable.
There's nothing on there that isn't sellable.
You know under the Trade and Standards Act.
But we are...
This has been going on for a few months.
This has been going on.
Prior to me opening this shop.
So when did we open this shop?
I can't remember now.
But...
Everything you see here is what the other charity shops have chucked out.
And Emma has come in and organised it.
And Jan's been in organising it.
Sami's been down here.
You know Chloe and Dan's over here.
I mean even those grid rails were being chucked out.
You know.
And look at them.
They look fab.
I mean yes they need another court.
Yes they're not brand new.
But we're not pushing brand new are we?
We're pushing, reuse, recycle.
But even those came from another shop.
This came from another shop.
This wood is used to reinforce.
It came from another shop.
So.
That didn't want it.
So yeah.
Oh there's that other bag.
What are they now?
Are they note to threes?
We've moved all your kids clothes behind the thing.
Emma we haven't messed with the boxes.
Other than he's brought some extra clothes.
Ready to fill your walls.
That's what I've been doing.
Is putting them on hangers.
Note to three.
I've got a couple of note to threes up there.
But you'll have the baskets.
You'll have two baskets per side.
Like the other shops have got.
All the other shops as your overflow.
So that'll be fab.
All them bags up.
Everything.
So yeah.
We just wanted you to be aware of that guys.
That not only do we rescue, recycle, fix things, clean things.
That we're actually.
Saving other shops waste now.
I don't know.
I probably can walk on it now.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Wet patch there.
Don't want to scuff it.
See.
Looks like she's done her job.
She's going to paint that patch.
And then we've got to paint the toilet.
But I can't paint the toilet.
Until the marketplace toilets back open.
And then open yet.
Yes.
The shelves for that are in the bottom guys.
We found them.
And then as time goes by.
I'll come around with a gloss.
And touch a bowl of gloss.
But I got it forever to do that.
We just wanted to get this up.
Because all of this would have been stacked up.
In the donation center.
All the shops.
And we just wouldn't have been able to cope with the volume of it.
I mean look.
It's lovely isn't it?
That's nice.
I like jumpers like this stuff.
But I think it's only a small.
But it's lovely.
We just wanted you to be aware of that.
What's this off?
Where's that wood come from?
Oh there it is.
I've been looking for that.
I've been able to do the painting tonight.
My leg is still bad.
And it's only just not twinging.
So you know.
I don't want to start it off.
It's going up and down the stairs is starting it a bit.
But I don't want to do it.
Oh they're nice aren't they?
But this is all what the other charity shops across Wales.
Okay.
Don't want.
And we're happy.
It would have gone in landfill.
They've told me that.
It would go in landfill.
Because that's what they would have done with it.
So.
Look at.
So our customers who come in and use Pontypool Phase 2.
Look at what you're actually helping us achieve.
Yeah.
Lovely shoes here.
Look at them.
Look at what you're helping us achieve.
And like the other charity shops.
We can't name them to thank them.
Because.
They might get in trouble.
You know.
So.
We work with them instead.
I'm amazed somebody hasn't put something on their shelf yet.
I would have thought that would have been full by now.
We tried to do it in here.
But it was getting too much you see.
We were like.
We can't over fill this down here.
Especially with textiles further down in the building.
Like you know.
But yeah.
There we are guys.
Look at my shuffle up the stairs now.
Like an old woman.
Somebody get me a stay lift.
Somebody check out a stay lift this week.
It would make my life a lot easier if I had a stay lift.
These as well.
These by here.
We just haven't made it down to the other shop.
All of these have come from.
Clothes that the other registered charity shops don't want.
And they've got hold of me on the QT and said.
Look.
If you don't say anything.
Or name us.
Well I said I am going to say something.
Because.
I want other charity shops to say to me.
Do you want all of this stock.
Which they are.
Which they are.
Been having to think about grid walling that too.
For the older children's clothes.
Have a think.
We'll have a think guys.
