So ight, guys.
We've had a few volunteers come forward.
And, well, it's just shocking to be honest.
The volunteers we've got at the moment are brilliant, absolutely salt of the earth, right?
And all their families are involved, they all support us.
You know, they do DIY in our shops, they fix stuff for us, they, you know, Jan's mother does the jigsaws for us.
We've got, you know, Chloe's grandmother is letting us fundraise on her own fundraising event.
You know, they do a lot of fundraising and they still support us and they still help Chloe to help fundraise for us.
You know, we've got Sammie works hours and hours and hours behind the scenes doing Vinted and all the rest of it.
You know, we've got Emma.
Emma's come in and she's fantastic and she's got her family that have offered DIY support as well.
And then about two weeks ago I had a lady, might be two weeks ago now, because you know how fast we moved, you know.
She was like...
started to comment on all the free stuff and she'd only just joined us.
I won this for free, I won that for free.
So I was like, right, OK, we might have to rein this one in.
Then it was, how much are you paying for me to do a Vinted account for you?
No.
If you're not helping mothers, if you're not you to support other mothers, I'm not interested in you one bit.
I ended up blocking her because I caught her bitching about us on another site.
So she's gone, OK.
She never started volunteering.
She messaged me on Facebook.
Well, that was the message I had and it was in that tone because it was sent as a voice message.
How much are you paying me to run a Vinted account for you?
We're not paying you anything because if you're not you to help other mothers and children, we're not interested.
You are not the volunteer for us.
I then had another lady contact me, which was promising because she... Oh, I almost dropped my phone.
She used to run a pub, so she'd be good at managing, you know, she would.
Managing and bouncing, that's all we need.
And then she was like, I'm not doing any cleaning whatsoever, mind.
And I was like, well, cleaning is part of the job.
And then cleaning is part of the job, guys.
You know, you need to keep a clean area, clean environment.
It don't take two seconds to walk around the shop with other stuff.
Right.
I don't... I mean, you know, if you're pulling out that corner, you're going to clean it as you go along.
Yeah.
If you're going to see, you know, a dead fly in the window, you're going to pick it up.
That's the type of volunteer we're looking for.
But again, that's not the attitude that we want when you come in.
Like, I clean the toilet.
If the toilet's bad, I clean the toilet.
If they got bad donations I sort them out.
Right.
I'm on the roof sometimes doing stuff.
Right.
I'm out there scraping chewing gum off the pavement sometimes and cleaning the cigarette butts from outside the shop.
Right.
Or I'm doing this or I'm doing that.
Yeah.
Or I'm tipping something down a drain somewhere because somebody hasn't cleaned a drain and it stinks when the customers are walking past.
That's me.
I do that.
Yeah.
I'm the CEO of the company and I do that.
If there's something that the girls don't want to clean up, I'll clean it up.
So if you're not prepared to flick a duster around, do the air freshening and put the oeuvre around and then, you know, I mean, I listen, I like oeuvring but I can't oeuvre because of the position you've got to be in to oeuvre.
But the girls will tell you, I get my stool and I oeuvre a patch and then I move up with my stool and then I'll oeuvre another patch and then I'll move up with my stool and I'll do it.
Right.
There's nobody iller than me.
Because I have got conditions that are long-term palliative, yeah, because I'm never going to get cured from my plastic anemia.
That affects me, that affects my joints, that affects my mobility, it affects my fatigue, it affects my functioning, affects my brain functioning because of the lack of oxygen.
Right.
There is nobody out there that's iller than me.
Let me tell you that now.
Right.
So if you can't just put an oeuvre around, flick a desk, spray a bit of air freshener, yeah, pick up a bit of rubbish off the floor, this isn't the job for you.
So don't apply, guys.
And like I said, anybody who comes at me with an attitude to start off with isn't going to work here.
Anybody who is you for themselves isn't going to, isn't going to survive in this business environment.
I'm telling you.
Right.
Because we get up seven days a week selflessly and our volunteers are always doing stuff, right, selflessly, giving up time and energy to put back into helping mothers and rescue all their stock.
You know, the volunteers we've had in the past, they all want, they all want a piece of the baby bank for free, but nobody's willing to put in the work.
We don't want people like that.
So just be aware, if you're, if you're applying to work here, you will be working.
And it will be a come into your role.
