Ah, right, so we've been... Oh, I need to write that 3.50 down, haven't I?
Um, just as somebody in looking at the rugby shirts, they might pop over Pontypool because we've got a new showcase over there.
Daniel's gonna screw that on top of there.
When you've got a shop, you've got to screw stuff so it won't fall.
Obvious reasons.
So he's gonna screw that on there, we think, now.
Uh, we've had a good clean-up.
I gotta hoover again, but we've had a good clean-up.
It was a nightmare.
Um, Chloe put the shoes up there.
Chloe and, um, Jenny did these shoes as well.
Uh, we always know we can have a lot of stock, but you've got to be... if you work with us, you've got to be able to handle this amount of stock.
And you've got to be able to, uh, keep it clean and tidy.
So I've done some of the windows.
I've got gaps so we can bring up some more expensive stuff from the donation centre.
I definitely get some stuff in there.
Um, again, volunteers.
We need volunteers that want to work.
Not sit down and drink tea and coffee all day.
Volunteers that will keep the shop clean and tidy.
Because I've had to let somebody go again now, this week.
Um, oh yeah.
So it's 50% of everything.
I've had to let somebody go again now because the mess is just unbearable.
Um, so it's taken me, Jan, Jenny, Chloe, Dan, five of us to clean Blackwood shop.
To get it to a standard.
And we've had to let a member of staff go because they're just not doing any work.
So, they've had to go.
Um, Jan's worked hard again on the note to threes and the rest of it.
We're going to do a video explaining to the customers how they work.
I think the customers know.
Note to three.
Three to six.
Six to nine.
Six to twelve.
Twelve to eighteen.
And then everything else is in the basket.
Um, and then obviously the boutiques are priced.
Um, are priced individually.
Um, I'm looking into ordering boutique hangers now.
So we've got nice hangers for them as well.
And then we can donate our plastic hangers for somebody else.
But our color hangers are the same in every shop.
Uh, to create continuity for the customers.
Um, so she's done all of that today.
She's got another three massive bags.
I don't know what those bags are unless they're different size.
I think she's back up tomorrow if we're going to come up and meet Jan.
Jenny went through the shoes.
I've had some more in Jenny's so I tied them straight away.
Um, one fifty these unless they're priced.
Like we've got some trainers there six pounds so they'll be three in the sale.
Uh,
so yeah but like dumping stuff like this is not acceptable.
Making a mess and not cleaning it up in the kitchen area is unacceptable.
Coming into work sitting down on your phone all day.
There's no phones on the shop floor anyway.
You shouldn't have them on the shop floor.
Then only the managers have phones for me to keep in contact with them.
And just in case they need to research something.
I don't want anybody coming in, sitting down, smoking all day, eating and drinking all day, and on your phone all day.
You're here to work when you come here.
Uh, if you're from the job centre you'll need time sheets as well.
Because I've spoken to the job centre and they appreciate the fact that we're asking for time sheets.
So, we'll be doing that.
Um, but this has taken us.
Now we're now on the second day of tidying up.
Because a member of staff just has been going like that.
And not actually putting stuff where they gotta go.
So, we've had to get rid of them.
Like I said, we don't warn you if you're gonna make that much of a mess.
Because you're a nuisance.
And pricing, people are pricing stuff again.
You shouldn't be pricing it.
If you come in the shop and you go, alright this item by you isn't priced.
You should be giving that to your manager of the shop to price it for you.
So, you know, like I said.
Take somebody in the kitchen and say to them, what does that sign say there?
Volunteers are not to price, we have designated prices.
Right, so what are you pricing then?
Yeah, how many warnings do I have to give people before we get shocked at it?
Do you see what I mean?
Because you're making a mess for us.
You're not following our ethical and moral and legal requirements.
So, how much time is reasonable to give somebody to adjust?
Too long, I think we're giving people.
So, we're at the point now where that's it now.
If you can't keep the shop clean and tidy, people slopping tea everywhere.
You eat your food in the designated areas, which is the kitchen.
Or you leave the site and go and eat your food.
You don't tip it all across the carpet and eat it and drink it as you're going along.
You shouldn't have cups of tea out here anyway because you could spill it on somebody.
Okay, if you're having a cup of tea, then you're on a break in there.
You're not out here, cups of tea everywhere.
Tea rings everywhere, you know.
I don't want volunteers like that.
I would rather struggle than have volunteers like that.
So, don't apply, okay?
Oh, we've had to let somebody else go who lied about having a criminal record too.
And we found out that they've had a prison sentence.
Know the police, know social services very well.
So, if they come in and they see you here and you've lied, they will let us know.
So, somebody who didn't tell us they'd spent time in prison have had to go.
It was for... what was it for?
Fighting, I think.
But there we are.
You can't be in here.
It's violence.
You know, it's as simple as that.
And the Jobcentre were unaware as well.
So, they've now been told because obviously they need to let employers know.
So, I've had a chat with the Jobcentre this week, putting right in exactly what we require before they send people up here, right?
Because there's no point in sending people up here if they're not suitable.
Anyway, they need to say, well, you need to go down here to volunteer.
Don't even bother going up to Jayne because she can't be in there.
And like I said, we will find out if you lied to us about stuff.
So... oh, and the update on the issue with the registered paedophile.
I've also got a letter somewhere.
I'll try and put it up.
I'll have to take his name out of it.
Unfortunately, I'd like to put his name on here.
The police have been out, the community police have been out and the police.
And they have... he has been told and social services have got in touch with me and said that he has been told that he is not to come anywhere near any of our premises because there is children.
He was told this before, okay?
He's been told it before.
But now the social worker has issued us a letter to say that he isn't allowed here.
And the police, the community police, because we've got a lot of community police officers that walk the beat in Blackwood.
We've walked the beat a couple of times in Pontypool too.
I've seen a few of them out.
And they're always happy to stop and chat.
And you know, say, oh, you all right?
Have you had any problems or what are you?
And we do appreciate it.
But he has been told now he's not to come here.
So I don't know what the radius is, but he's been told.
So he's not to be at any, he's not to come to my house.
He's not to come here.
He's not to come to any of the shops, the donation center, or anything with our logo on it.
So that's a good result that we've had today.
I can't put it up now on the video because I haven't taken out his details.
And you know, it's against the law to give out a peter peter amount of details.
It's not against the law, but it could be cast as creating a problem for them.
But there we are.
So we've had a, I think we've had a good week because we've come in and tidied up.
I don't, like I said, this is going to be written into the contract now.
Fast across the road.
Can we just have a look at one of their contracts?
So they're going to speak to their managers to see what they've got written in theirs.
It'll be written in your contract that if you make a mess, like it's taken five or six people to clean up.
Phil, if you're online, ask some of the house clearance boys what they would have, because you would have seen the videos.
What they would have charged me to clean up the top room in Pontypool and Blackwood shop.
To take out the, you know, take out the rubbish, clear it, tidy it and all the rest of it.
So that people can see exactly how much it would cost.
Right?
Because what we'll do, if you volunteer and you come in and you create a problem for other volunteers and make a mess.
Then you'll be, obviously we will dismiss you.
And because you'll be in breach of your contract.
And we will charge you for the clean up.
Because I could have done with having a cleaning firm in here.
And I still got to clean the carpet.
So that's what we're going to have in there now.
So if you come in and you're not tidy and you're not clean, we don't want to hear.
Your job in the shop is to come in, tidy up and organise.
And clean the items.
And that's it.
So if you come in again and create a mess.
What we're going to have written into the contract is if we've got to clean up the mess.
We get a quote.
I get three quotes.
And then whoever quote we pick.
You'll have to pay them.
Because I'm fed up with it now.
I'm so with the other staff.
Fed up with cleaning up after all the volunteers.
