We're having a break now.
We had a lot of grid rail things up here from risk a shop I think.
But we can't put the grid rails up here because I don't think the walls are solid enough.
We were talking about it earlier with Luke and Dave and we were like I don't think it's gonna... I don't think it'll hold it so we won't put them up here.
We just clean the walls off.
Use the mold killer.
Now we've got it right the way back so you know dry rather than damp.
And then put a coat of paint on it with fungicide in it like kitchen or bathroom.
That's what it needs is kitchen or bathroom paint.
Or like a fungicide will wash on it.
That's what it means.
There was no point doing it before because we needed to scale it back.
But I'm a bit stuck now because I've got Christmas trees that I don't want to get rid of.
I got my son who is failing fast on the stairs and can't take anything else up and down.
I got Santa.
I got my Christmas trees to go down.
The commode can go down.
And then I got three massive boxes of stationery and stuff which he's got to carry down.
So I think what we might have to do is just coordinate off for there.
Throw a chalk line across there and say everything past there isn't for sale.
The rest of it is.
The rest can go like... but I don't think you can do it anymore.
We've stopped now anyway.
We're gonna have some noodles from the Chinese around the corner.
I always park my car there in the day because it's closer for me to walk because I struggle to go down the car park.
The car park attendant, the caretaker, asked to give me a lift.
I was like I can't make it.
And he seen me and he was like what there?
I was like I can't get down there.
So I think what we'll do now is perhaps call it a day up here.
Just put the stuff to stay up there.
The Hoover's not happy with the amount of plaster dust it's got to pick up because of course the plaster's coming off this wall.
It's quite clogged the filter.
I think we're gonna need a new Hoover here anyway.
I think it's best Hoover's on the market they are.
Don't use them for wet.
Only ever use them for wet or dry.
Don't use them for the two.
Right?
And the only downside with these Hoover's right is that they've got a short lead because they're the best Hoover's in the world.
I think I got about 50 of them in my attic because they were on offer and I bought a load of them.
So I'll be digging another one out the attic.
Brand new one over here.
But I'll try and get as much of this junk up you know.
This bloody plaster up off the floor with this one before we use the new one and then we'll have a nice new one for the shop.
Treat ourselves is it?
I don't think he's gonna be able to carry these boxes downstairs.
I think he's gonna kill him if he's gonna carry these labels and what have you down there.
So I'll have to just put like a chalk line across there or something and just hope people don't just take stuff out of boxes they're not supposed to.
Nice curly woody rail is the aspect down in the window or something like that.
So don't push, try not to push anything up against the walls volunteers in here now because it still needs air to breathe.
But by using this area now more then it's gonna help it as well because obviously you're circulating the air up here.
Still need, I was hoping to get all this cleaned.
Look the banister's filthy.
Look, hoping to get all that cleaned today.
I can't, I'm gonna lose him soon because he's gonna die of malnutrition.
So he's failing fast now.
So at some stage I'm gonna have to take him home at least.
Have a bath and maybe I'll come back and potter around.
Or deal with a fallout downstairs because obviously there's quite a bit downstairs from here as well now.
So I'm hoping now by the weekend it'll be ready for you to Because you can come up here because the damp is right down now so it just needs fungicide.
So I need my roller stick now because I need to put the fungicide on the top as well.
Cross there, do all the walls up here.
And this one might need a couple of coats but it'll kill it right back now.
I've got to take that down or cover it because it is in the fire exit and then highlight that one more.
Do a mind your head sticker before you know customers can come up here basically.
Unlike responding to some of the negative comments that we've got like today now because people are sat in the house and got nothing better to do.
They're not out cleaning places like this or fundraising or you know helping mothers or children with food banks and nappies.
They're in the house bitching on Facebook.
The people who checked all the stuff up here had health and safety training.
They had quite a bit of health and safety training so they were in breach of fire regulations and health and safety as well.
So there we are.
Shove that in your pipe and smoke it.
Mannequins now is the other thing.
See we've got three of them.
We've got at least three I know of downstairs that are just the torso.
I found a hand over it was like gray.
Well even this color was gray.
It was like a blooming deceased hand.
We could still use them as trousers you know can still stand them up like this trousers can't you?
Otherwise if we if we can't use them we'll flog the body parts.
Sound like traffickers now.
Flog the body parts because somebody might say oh well I'll have that hand for displaying stuff or maybe we I don't know maybe put the hand in the cupboard bracelet on I don't know.
Put the rings on.
I don't want to have a look.
So yeah I'm gonna have noodles and sweet and sour sauce I think with them.
Chow mein is sweet and sour I think he got me.
I don't know if I can eat all the bits but I'll try and eat the noodles.
I don't know I write down noodles every week.
I don't know what he's having.
Or chips I think he ordered.
So we're gonna stop and have some food and I'm gonna see if he can carry these down and if he doesn't want to I'm gonna say okay don't.
We'll put them up by here.
I might get him to build the rails for me.
It's a two-second job the rails and then they're up and then I can carry on hanging stuff up then throughout the week can't I?
So I'm hoping to go down Risca Wednesday Thursday Friday have a break.
Put my feet up down Risca because it isn't much to do down Risca.
Only like light cleaning I think.
This will be open all week.
Blackwood will be open all week.
Thursday we might not have Blackwood open sorry.
Oh no Thursday Risca won't be open.
I just remembered now we've got something on.
That's right I'll update as we go along now.
So I'm going to scrape the walls the best I can to get the loose bits off and then I'm going to fungicide it and then wait for that to dry.
Not tonight.
Get the roller put some fungicide on that.
That was if you look back on the really early videos of when we came here that was black.
I know it looks black now but it's a lot better.
So that's great yeah that's great.
It's still like somebody's paint the windows.
We did have we did start.
I don't know why every time I come over here I want to paint.
Every time I come to Valdivo I feel like I want to paint.
I got the urge to do something.
I've been looking for a new shop for a while haven't I?
Let's be honest.
I've been online looking for a new shop.
I've been bored.
So it was obvious I was going to do something up here wasn't it?
So yeah I get my roller.
I hide the roller on the end of the brush so nobody sells it or loses it.
The extendable roller.
None of the volunteers noticed.
Might be a customer.
I don't know.
And then when you've got things like shoes that are only worth a pound.
Like just bring them up here.
Do things like that.
We might put like some of the accessories because we have a lot of accessories downstairs and they overflow in the baskets and put them up here.
Fill a bag for a fiver.
I'll get it printed out as well on the wall downstairs and up here.
Everything's a pound or less.
Or it's three foot two.
Or fill a bag for a fiver.
And then we'll have a hanger box for there so that they can leave the hangers up because they don't need to bring the hangers down.
Don't worry if they forget.
And then we'll have another box for carrier bags in and they just put it in there can't they?
We're not sure if there's like building behind this part.
There's buildings there.
We've got neighbours there so I don't want to be up here too late.
And we know we've got neighbours there because that's where the builders work in.
But I don't know if there's like a building over there.
Shattered now.
That's what people... people don't seem to realise how much hard work has gone into this now today.
And don't forget I'm post-op and I'm waiting on a double knee operation.
I've had to... I've had to move along chairs and do the work on chairs today.
Imagine if I didn't have him to shift all the staff.
I'd really struggle wouldn't I?
