Alright, so I'm downstairs.
I've started sorting out the odd shoes.
I've got a few pairs together, so I'm pleased with that.
Some are a bit rough, so they're going to be going in the pound box.
You know, somebody wants to see if they can salvage them.
I'm pretty sure there's another six or seven crates on the third floor.
I'm not going to be able to go up there tonight with my leg.
But at some stage we need to pull them all out.
I really need them all out flat on the floor to do it.
But I don't want to pull out too many, because I know there's another six crates somewhere.
If somebody brings in a donation and there's a missing shoe, then I will say, have you got the other shoe and can you drop it in?
If not, we'll dispose of it.
Take the laces out, because people can always use laces.
But somewhere across the way, where we've moved to different venues and started in our house and then start on the drive and in the vans and everything else, we've lost this amount of shoes.
So we've been pulling them all in the one shop.
Whenever we've found them, whenever we've found these shoes, we know...
I don't have a guitar.
I'll fix it.
If not, somebody will buy it just for the bit.
We've been pulling and pulling and we know there's none in Blackwood.
We know there's none in Risca.
We know there's none in Brynmawr, because we emptied it.
So there may be one or two in my van.
I know there's none in my attic, because we've cleared that.
There may be one or two of these still kicking around my house from when we used to run it from the house.
But what we're going to do...
Like some of these shoes I've seen... I've seen this one.
This bloody red thing.
I'm always seeing that.
So they should all be here now.
I've got a pile of china dolls here.
I want to turn them into haunted dolls.
I don't know if you've seen it.
Ready for Halloween.
Some of them already look a bit creepy, but they do need a wash and a clean before I do it.
Is there anybody that wants to pick them up from Pontypool shop?
Give them a clean.
Give their clothes a clean and then give them back to me, ready for me to turn them into haunted dolls.
Because even though that one looks haunted, it's the thing I've seen on eBay it is.
You know, the clothes still need cleaning.
Stick their ear back on and what have you.
Let me know.
I've got a couple of other jobs that need doing.
I've got some painting that needs doing in Pontypool.
Some cleaning that needs doing in Pontypool.
Size cubing in Pontypool.
Lots of stuff.
Always stuff.
So, you know, rather than just, now any other charity I could tell you now would throw these.
Right, they'd be like, oh I ain't got time to smoke that now.
They smell.
They need a wipe over.
Right?
ONES would do this.
We've kept these shoes until we've pooled them.
So that we can go through them.
So that we don't add to landfill.
So that we can say, make the conscious effort to find in these shoes.
And putting them together.
And I mean, as soon as we got them, we put them out.
They're £5 in Pontypool Shop.
Or less.
And they're all half price.
So they won't, these shoes won't be £5.
They'll be £2.50.
Oh no, I thought they had the two slippers then.
The trouble is, I've done this once before.
Well, we've done it a few times, you know.
Because they do get muddled.
I'm fed up with seeing that show.
But you need them all laid out.
And what I did last time, I think, was I colour coordinated them.
That was easy.
It's easier for me with colour coordinating.
Because I got a bit of a visual problem as well.
For me, I see, now this drives me nuts.
Because some people put our size cubes in bags.
And it drives me nuts, right?
Because I can't fiddle through the bags to get them.
But me, I can find...
The colours better.
So, like I always say to people, don't put the size cubes in boxes and all the other stuff.
Leave them in a container.
Because people who have things like dyslexia or dyspraxia, they...
Oh, these are mine.
I don't know where the other one is.
I bought these, right?
During the pandemic, in lockdown.
Barely mind I'm waiting on two new replacements.
And have you seen how short I am?
They'd be like bloody waders on me.
I don't know where the other one is.
It's around just somewhere.
I honestly got like wobbles going through my head when I bought them.
I don't know.
Anyway...
Anyway, shoes is my thing.
Anyway...
When I find the other one, they'll be a fiver.
And you've got a story now to go with them as well.
See, I've seen this one.
I spend my life dreaming of these bloomin' shoes.
Anyway, we're at a point where we're in sort out mode now.
With the shoes.
I can't pull them all out because...
Oh, they were mine as well.
But they were clumpy when I was walking with them.
They were like... because they were like plastic.
They were like clump, clump, clump.
I don't like them.
Probably half of these shoes are mine.
I need them out, I do.
But what I need is the other ones down.
See, I've seen this one somewhere.
And they're good shoes.
Some of them are good shoes.
Some of them are a bit ropey.
But we have got buffers and things to buff them up.
So that's not a problem.
But I think what I'm going to have to do...
These were mine as well.
I wonder if I ever thought I was going to...
These are really painful.
These were mine.
But they really... they're really spiky.
They really hurt.
So...
Yeah, if you want to come and match up some shoes, you can.
But I know there's more upstairs.
But it's getting them down.
That's the only thing.
But again, lots of jobs to do.
We're trying to get on top of Pontypool we are.
Because there's a lot of wasted space here at the moment.
That we could be doing a lot more with.
And we've got a lot of stock.
As you know, I could fill this shop six times over at the moment.
To the rafters.
So I need to get...
I need to get these things out and ticking over.
So that they go in.
But yeah.
I found some really...
Sometimes you can find them really easy.
And then other times it's like, oh my god.
Oh.
I just had him, didn't I?
Oh.
Oh.
So I think what I'll do now...
Either Sunday, leave it be Sunday.
When Dan can get them down off the third floor for me.
Because I can't get up the steps.
And then go up to the other steps.
I might be able to go up there and throw them down.
But I'm not going to be able to bring them down here.
After this.
Because I'm only just taking the rubbish up from down here.
I'm trying to do it every time.
I've got to come down for a wee or something.
Try and do it like that.
But...
I think I'm going through the same pile I put there.
Because I thought, oh I've got that one.
You know, we've got a pair of vans there.
Look if we can find the other one.
And I've got a box of baby ones as well.
So I think what I might do.
Is wait now.
Because nothing is jumping out at me.
Oh that rainbow one is about in there.
We've just seen that somewhere.
Wait now until I get the ones down from upstairs.
And then I can just colour coordinate them.
And find them easier then perhaps.
And do it when the shop is shut.
Because I can't pull them out too far.
Because obviously if customers come down tomorrow.
I don't want them breaking their necks.
I swear.
I've just seen that.
That can't be the same roller blade.
I'm sure it was by there.
So yeah, what do you reckon?
About 50-60 shoes there.
Would be good now if we can pair them up wouldn't it?
So yeah, that just shows you how far we go to recycle things guys.
