Oh, it's not a bad day today, guys.
It's alright out there.
I've been out there this morning.
It's quite pleasant compared to yesterday.
Thank you to our customers at Brave the Weather for coming yesterday.
Wonka tickets are available, are still valid from 4 o'clock today at Ponty Pool because I'm going to do a late night shop.
We've had lovely donations in already.
Now, you know I'm struggling with my knee.
I had to drive home the other night holding my knee and my leg together.
It was horrendous, right?
I did think I was going to need rescuing at one point.
I need someone now.
I need a couple of people to be our on-foot managers, right?
To deal with the tin on the wall because here I could use my mother's mobility scooter, right?
But not all driveways and gardens are like this, right?
But until I get my knee sorted, I can't do any walking or anything like that.
I'm dreadful.
I can pick up.
That's not a problem.
So, for example, if you were to do tin on the wall and pick up donations as well, and then you say get to the end of the street and say, oh my god, we've got two carfuls, then I can come and pick up.
That's not a problem.
But it's the walking and the posting of the leaflets.
I can't do it now with my knee.
And I haven't really got the time.
So I need managers to start now picking teams of volunteers to go out and like pick two or three streets a week and start leafletting them there and then going back like a day later or the day after two days later and say, will you now to pick up the tin on the wall and the donations,
please?
Which I'll probably leave out the front for you.
So and then if you've got too much to go in a car, you know, I can come and pick up the rest.
It's not a problem.
But I cannot walk it, guys.
And to be honest, I can't sit on the mobility scooter all day.
It's bad enough sat down and driving.
But that's what I need now is people to come forward and start doing it.
You will have to wear an IVs and you will have to do the training, but you will also be entitled to the same benefits as all the other volunteers in the shop.
So you'll get 75 percent discount in the other shops.
Buy one, get one free when we're on 50 percent off.
And if it's the tin on the wall collection that you're doing, then the volunteers will be able to take a meal out of the tins collected for themselves that evening because they've obviously given up time in the day.
So, yeah, that's what I need now is people to start leafletting.
And when you're going around talking to people about what we do, because, you know, like somebody messaged me last and said, oh, these websites, these comments are getting ridiculous.
They're pathetic.
They are, you know, but it's nice to talk to the public.
I'm a big believer in word of mouth and it's worked really well for us.
Look at where we are.
Look at where we are in less than four years, right?
It's nice that if you stop and say, oh, we're with the baby bank.
They're the largest baby bank in South Wales.
This is what they do.
You know, they have shops to fundraise.
They do this.
They do that.
They do that.
You know, Adam say, oh, you want Facebook?
Right.
Let's show you where the Facebook thing is.
Here's the Facebook QR code.
And do that as you go in around as well, please.
So I need a couple of managers from all different areas.
And then you need to assemble a team of volunteers.
But I need to speak to those volunteers first as well to make sure that they're given the right impression when we're out and about.
