Right, so we provide micro meals for our volunteers.
We wouldn't be a good food bank if we didn't feed you.
If it is a registered charity, they have to pay for your lunch by law and they have to pay for your transport back and forth by law.
We don't have to, but we wouldn't be a good food bank if we weren't providing food for our staff as well.
And that saves them a couple of quid a day, doesn't it?
We also have snacks, like biscuits and stuff, and soft drinks, milk, tea, coffee.
We provide all of that.
We do free tea and coffee for customers as well.
Again, I'm glad we've taken the tills out of the shop because I have found some receipts for Greggs, £7 a day, and Red Bull.
We don't pay for stuff like that.
Okay, so I'm not impressed with that.
If those members of staff were still working for us, they would be being asked to repay that money back.
Because what they've done is they've taken the money out of the till for it.
So like I said, I'm glad we've gone card only because now we can control the narrative a bit more.
And there was another issue where we had £60 missing from a till float because it had been spent on food in a week.
So, like I said, paying by card is working for us.
It protects the customer, it protects the profits of our charity pending.
And we can do things.
We can control the narrative better.
We're happy to provide you with a micro meal.
It's not the best, you know.
But other than me cooking you up a fresh meal every day, I don't know what I can do that's better than that.
But neither is Greggs.
There's less calories in this because as a food bank you've got to remember about calories, salt and fat and all the rest of it.
You can't just give out loads of junk all the time.
So,
if it gets donated in, we'll give it out.
But we don't buy in junk and stuff.
This is the lowest that we can find, lower than Greggs.
We're not funding a Greggs epidemic.
Alright guys, because Greggs isn't healthy because of the amount of calories that's in it.
Plus, it's really expensive, so I'm really annoyed when my mother pulled out the receipts yesterday and left them on her table to say, look at this lot, out of the till.
And they've been taking the money for the Greggs seven pounds a day out of the till.
So, like I said, we're good enough to provide meals for people.
But if certain shops or volunteers take the mech, then they'll be asked to provide their own.
But don't forget, if you work for a charity, they have got to provide you your lunch by law.
And anything that you're out of pocket for by law, they have to refund it, including your travel expenses.
