Alright, spoiling again today, innit, guys.
Right, so just a quick chat with people now.
When we put stuff up for sale, alright, it's my job, right, as the trustee of the charity, right, and the owner of the charity to do the right, the best thing possible for the charity pending, or the course that I'm in charge of, okay?
So if I think that's worth 20 quid, right, and I put it up for 20 quid, I've done the right thing.
What we don't need is people arguing on the posts, okay?
We sold a child's toy that was 20 pound yesterday.
It was on Amazon with a CE mark for the UK for 35.
Yes, you can buy similar things on T-Mail, but they haven't got the safety certificates on them from T-Mail.
They're imitations.
So if a child was to choke on it when they've bought it for like three or four quid, it hasn't got safety regulations, okay?
Now, it's not just the toy that we sold yesterday.
I need people to stop commenting on our prices, please, and arguing in the comments about prices, okay?
We've got hundreds of baby toys here for a pound, okay?
If I want to sell the one brand new one for 20, then I'm very well within my rights to do it, okay?
We need nappies and food banks more than we need toys, okay?
That is what people are crying out for.
So on the back of that, the last couple of weeks, we've had some really vintage toys in.
So that one there is going for quite a bit.
This one here, I think, is going for 35 online.
This one is like 20-odd online.
So I just want you to be aware that we will be selling primarily Blackwood and the donation centre, because I've got Cabbage Patch dolls out there that are worth anything up to £40, £50 now.
I just want you all to be aware that some of the toys are going to be priced higher, but the toys won't be put in the children's area.
So they don't pick it up and fall in love with it and say, I want that, and then it's £20, £30.
Okay?
So we will put vintage toys, we'll be separate to the actual toy area.
Like we always put the vintage cars into the glass cabinets.
Now, there's vintage cars from my father's age group, and there's vintage cars from my age group.
Because all the Hot Wheels and things that were my age group, right?
You're looking at 1980, right?
And the Matchbox from them are now vintage themselves.
I'm vintage.
So we do the best thing possible for the charity pending.
Okay?
That's what a fundraiser does.
That's why people who do fundraising roles for charities get paid thousands of pounds because of their expertise.
Now, I do this job for free because I believe that if you're working for a charity, you should be doing it for free.
You know, and we want to help people.
But there are items that we ring-fence, dearer, because we know that people need nappies and food banks and other things more than they need teddy bears and baby toys.
There's an abundance of baby toys out there.
Okay?
There's an abundance of teddies out there.
But what there is an abundance of is free food and free nappies.
And that's what you need to take into account as well, guys.
So can I please ask you to stop bickering in the comments?
If you don't like the prices we're putting up, scroll past.
All right?
We're all professional fundraisers here.
We know exactly what we're doing.
Every single thing is researched.
We don't just sit here and slap prices on it.
Every single thing is gone through by at least two people.
Okay?
Because we work in teams and there's two of us and we're going through it.
Me and Jan have just gone through some more teddy bears now.
We've just found three that, you know, we might get 60 quid for.
We might not get 60 quid, you know, if we get 30 quid.
That's fantastic.
But we're not going to let things like this go for a pound and 50p.
We have to do the right thing best by the organisation and the charity pendant.
All right?
I could sell these 50p all day.
But the expertise comes in when you're selling things at a higher price.
So I need you to be aware of that.
And can you please stop bickering in the comments about prices?
