Right, so this is something I wanted to show you now.
I allocate myself up to 50 pound a month from the takings that we take to spend on cakes.
No, I don't.
No, I don't.
Just my layer does up a bit in there.
Well, it's hot and it all bothered.
So this tray cost me five pound, right?
So written into our policies that we haven't published yet because we're in the process of setting them up and we're doing it already to become a registered charity, that I've got in there that I allow myself to spend 50 pound on items that I think are going to benefit the charity,
okay?
Because I do see a lot of things about in the line of work that we do.
So I picked up this basket for five pound off the marketplace.
I'm quite shocked with the prices because some of these are selling for 20 and 30 pound.
I might have to double check what I'm doing because I'm only putting 10 on them.
But if we got 10 pound for everyone in there, that would be amazing, wouldn't it?
We're going to get more than five pound for what I paid for this lot.
And it included the basket.
We had a free basket.
That's always going to come in handy.
There was also... I've done them now, but there was also two... I had two trays of stuff today last week.
I think it come to seven pound.
One tray was five pound.
One tray was two pound off the marketplace.
And the lamp... I knew the lamp was going to go for 30 quid before I even... you know, because it's stuff that I can see.
So we've already made that money back and obviously I keep a record on it.
I thought these would go for five or six each.
But when I looked online, actually they're coming up a lot more.
So I might have to double check them.
But I'm putting 10 on them for now.
But I mean even if we didn't sell any and they went into the half price sale and we sold them all for five pound, then that's benefited the charity, isn't it?
So that's something I just wanted to show you that I do from time to time.
I don't spend massive amounts because you never know when you're going to need the money and you get a bill in, isn't it?
Our running costs are quite high with having four shops and a donation centre now.
The benefit we got here is that we don't need the electric on.
So we can get away with the quite well with the roller shutter up and the lovely skylights.
So we are never going to have a massive electric bill for here.
But obviously electric is getting higher in the shops now.
The prices are getting higher and they don't do much.
The energy companies, they don't do much for charities or charitable groups.
I think we're on the best one for our area with British gas we're with.
So they're the best ones to be with for us that we found out, you know, from the research I did.
That was giving us a little discount, I can't remember, but it won a lot.
I think they put us on a fixed tariff as well.
So you know, if it goes up, we're on a fixed.
So yeah, I just wanted to show you that.
I don't go over 50 pound because obviously, you know, these little five pound trades can add up.
But if it's something I think that we're going to, there's something there that I think we're going to benefit from, then I will pick it up just for you to be aware.
Shattered now.
It's been hot in here today, might need a fan down here.
I don't think we even emptied one cage of Teddys.
We've got tons of Teddys.
They are all like Winnie the Poohs, Disney, Kevin Carrot.
They all go really well in Blackwood, they will.
I think that's a bag of clothes on the top.
Yeah, it might be.
So they will sell really well.
I mean, Teddy sell really well anyway.
And then Jan probably took on the same amount for washing again today, which she doesn't charge back to the charity.
If we get anything in like charity pending, if we get anything in like vanish, we had some vanish, half a tub of vanish and I give it to Jan for free.
Because she's always doing bits of washing and more of it for us.
But while we got the nice weather, I want to get those Teddys out to see what ones we need to wash and what ones are okay to go forward with.
So because I can get some out drying as well.
But I need someone to come and sort them.
We are, like I said, we had four new starters last week.
Brynmawr is doing really well.
Please remember, you need to be a customer or a donator to access any of our services.
Because then you're helping another mother further down the line.
Yeah, so I might just double check these because some are coming up 20 and 30.
I don't know.
I wasn't expecting that.
I
double check, I think.
I'll double check.
But it would be good if we got 10 pounds on there.
How many have we got do you think?
One, two, three or loads in there.
Four.
Oh, it's got to be at least 30, haven't it?
I reckon in there.
That'll be 300 quid.
And I spent the fiver and had a free basket.
So there we are.
What's that?
A light pull, is it?
Just a little vase.
See all the different crests and stuff.
Oh, that's nice.
Look at the mumbles.
They're souvenirs, they are.
But they obviously they're vintage souvenirs.
That's why they've gone up in price.
They've shot up in price.
But I wasn't expecting them to go up that much.
So I'll have to do another research now, I think.
That looks like, oh, I don't know what this is, if that was in there.
Lucky white heather.
Well, that might have been with it.
I don't know.
Might have just been put in there because it looks like it.
Yeah, I've just had a Chinese now.
I ordered a Chinese.
I only ever eat half of it.
So I always get two days out of the Chinese.
Chinese is my favourite though.
Chinese entitled.
What's your favourite?
Drop it in the comments.
Got a real fur hat there.
OK.
We had a top of real fur, like a real fur collar on.
I put up for 15.
But I might be better off giving it to Kay to research the real fur and her selling it on vintage.
Or on that jacket.
It looks like a cheap jacket, but it's like a hiker's jacket.
It's like a windproof one or something.
I don't know.
I'll have to check that.
I thought this was going to be easy because I thought they'd all be the same price.
That one's a bit damaged.
That one's damaged there.
Where's he from?
I don't know.
Have you ever been to that place?
He's got a bit cracked on the end.
That's the trouble see.
This is why we've got to pack it all up with bubble wrap.
So if you get any bubble wrap, anything like that, that we can package stuff in.
You know sometimes you can get the stuff that looks a bit like laminate flooring underlay.
You know that like foamy stuff.
That's not so much packing peanuts.
We don't use them.
Or polystyrene.
It's not something we use.
But if you've got any bubble wrap, Jan brings in a lot of newspapers.
But otherwise it's going to get damaged too.
And sometimes the boxes come in and there's no packaging in them.
They're just all thrown in a box.
You know and you've got to try and deal with it then.
And it's so gutting because we have to check out quite a bit today.
Like I always record what we've chucked out.
So I think it was probably about 30 to 40 at the value we would have put on it that I've chucked out unfortunately.
Don't get damages from just being in the box, you know, before we can get to it.
So I'll try and put that one up for sale.
Like if they're going up for 10, I probably put 150 on that or something.
Or if somebody buys a lot of them, we're giving that one for or whatever.
But if it's completely smashed then obviously we've got to get rid of it.
And there was things like beautiful glass bells and you know the nice crystal cut glasses and things.
It was like, oh, gutting things were broke.
And so yeah, there we are.
Bit of crack on, isn't it?
