Morning, guys.
So, we've had two knives in.
One from Risca and then another child had messaged me about keeping this one.
Wanted to get rid of it.
That's a result, I think.
That's a good result.
This is the first time anybody's ever done this in the UK.
It's not the first time there's been a knife on this, but it's the first time people have done it for children.
Both of these knives were taking off people under 18.
And they were voluntarily giving up.
So, we let the police know now that we've got our amp.
The police will come and take our amp.
So, staff, the bin will be locked back up.
Staff, don't be angling whatsoever, please.
The police might not come straight because the bin's locked.
And if they're busy.
We've got Nick now.
I've got us some cages.
We're splashing out a bit today.
Blowing the budget on some cages to put some stuff in.
Because I think we can have more.
Need a bigger donation centre, that's for sure.
We knew that when we took it on.
But this was local, wasn't it?
We might need another one elsewhere.
We might need another one elsewhere.
We know that.
But again, it's the staff, running them.
And we all got to be on the same page with what we're doing with donations.
And now we're looking after them and taking care of them.
So, I'm really pleased this morning that we've had those knives in.
Because we need to start saying to children it's not acceptable to be hiding these knives, storing them up for an eventuality that shouldn't be taking place.
We need to be supportive.
If you feel like you want to stab somebody, you know, can you go in contact with us?
Whether it's being triggered by abuse or bullying or if you just feel like it's your mental health and you're a young person under 18, can you get in contact with us?
And we can give you a number that you can ring for support and advice.
And we can get that set up for you to have some counselling.
Because right now I don't see anybody doing anything.
I don't see anybody proactively trying to deal with a situation.
I don't see anybody... I mean, I don't know what the schools have rolled out.
I know they're in lockdown to protect the other people.
I don't understand.
But what else is anybody doing to prevent this from happening?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Maybe it's something we can do.
Maybe it's funding the schools, you know.
But what you need to realise is that if you go through with any, you know, stabbing ideas or anything, or injuring anybody, you could end up being in a Young Offenders Institute.
I mean, that's not what you want, right?
You're gonna have criminal record for the rest of your life.
It's gonna affect when you have children later on in life because you're gonna be deemed a risk.
You need to realise that this is how serious it is.
And we need to realise that young people need our help and support with dealing with their issues.
Because right now, we've got children being brought up in a stab culture.
And it's just... it's unacceptable for them to be brought up to think that that is the right way about going about things.
You know, and as adults and influencers, we need to... we need to take that on board and we need to do something proactive about it because children don't seem to realise the bigger consequences of what they're doing.
You know, injuring people and taking somebody's life.
They need to be aware of how dangerous the situation is and what situation they're putting themselves in.
And this goes for anybody in the UK and Ireland.
We can help you if you're a young person.
We can get people to counsel you.
You're not gonna have the SWAT team turn up at your house.
If you've got a knife in your house, the police will turn up to take it because they need to get the weapon from you... safely.
So that's what will happen if you ring me and say, I've got two knives under my bed and I don't know what to do with them and I'm from... I don't know, Norwich?
I don't know, anywhere like in it.
Then the police will need to come and pick up those knives from you.
But the best thing to do is to let us know and then we can deal with it.
If you surrender them to the police, then you're not gonna be in trouble and they're gonna give you support as well.
And that's what you need is support to get you from feeling the way you feel and feeling that you think this is the only answer or this is a possible answer to the solution.
So like I said, get in touch with us and we'll see what we can do for you.
I'm sure we'll do something for you.
So yeah, we got 10 cages coming now.
We need like 200 I think.
10 cages, you know, the big rolling store ones.
So like all the boxes can go in one.
And then they're gonna fill them today expect when we guys
