Oh, sorry, I had a lady with donations, so we have to check some stuff.
So I've had a move around, got some more things out, put the Christmas stuff in there, because he did have a few Christmas knickknacks.
So I thought, well, I'll put them in there if anybody says we've got Christmas stuff, because they do sell all year round, but we needed a bit of a change.
I changed the window.
Put some like, lovely Tedbake outfit.
Beautiful.
So we needed a change.
That's the last now of these Tommy Teats we got.
We've had some beautiful new items in.
Brand new in packaging.
These are all £2, don't forget.
So I'm just pricing up some of the donations now.
And we've got some books in.
So I just want to remind people, because Daniel had a price winter on Saturday.
The books are £3.50.
We've got a sign in the window.
The reason they're £3.50 is we're asking the UK book lovers to pay the price of a nappy.
The price of a pack of nappies.
Let's hope that's not the price of a nappy.
It won't be long soon will it?
Price is going up.
So that our UK book lovers can get involved.
And like our media, like our CDs, people can get involved.
And our record.
Look at the records we've got.
The record community have looked after us so well.
They really have.
I need to get a sign now at the front of all the shops saying we sell vinyl.
And when we go on half price, it all goes on half price as well.
So nobody, you know, we don't sell ringpence in the box, right?
They're all on half price.
So they're £1.75.
So anyway, Daniel had somebody come in and they said, I can get 10 bucks a pound.
I never saw.
So Daniel explained.
He says for the nappies, this is why we do it.
So she was very rude to him.
And they were on £1.75 because we're on half price.
She was very rude.
And they told her to go.
But, you know, if she's buying 10 for a pound in one shop, which if any charity shop is selling novels, 10 for a pound, you're a fool because they're one of the top sellers in charity shops.
You're fools.
You shouldn't be in charge of fundraising if you're doing that.
Then she's buying 10 for a pound down the one shop and she wants 10 for a pound an hour shop.
That's 20 bucks a week.
What is she doing with them books?
Selling them on.
Because I've got mothers out there who are avid readers.
And I know that some of our mothers, we've got three or four that could finish two bucks in a day, right?
Because they are avid readers.
Two novels in a day, right?
And do a blog on it.
But nobody's going to get through 14 in a week, are they?
So why would you need two lots of 10 for a pound?
I think any charity shops that are selling novels 10 for a pound, you need to reflect.
Have a word with yourself, I was going to say.
But reflect on your fundraising skills because novels are top sellers.
And you shouldn't be letting books go out 10 for a pound.
That's ridiculous.
You're just doing them harm by putting stuff up that price.
Anyway, I'm going to win and say, selling them books.
I'm going to go where I was.
And then I saw this.
Costars.
Book awards.
So I was thinking to all our lovely UK readers, because we do send some books off as well, right?
Some books, you know, people buy and we send them off and they pay the post and packaging because they want to support us.
So why don't we do a James Babybank book awards?
Why don't we do that?
Promote second-hand reading and a book award.
What do you think guys?
Let me know how you want to do it.
We'll get a voting page up and we can get some stickers done and we can we can put them up as well and say that what our mothers and our readers from the families that we support, what they felt the best book was.
We could do it like every three months or every six months.
So I thought yes, that's good, isn't it?
Because, you know, our readers are supporting us really well.
So let's do an award, is there?
Let's do something like that as well.
Let me know what you think, guys.
