All right, so I've had a bit of a clear out of the back in Risca.
They're going to come down the donation centre, but I haven't got a room in the car, but we've had a bit of a clear out.
This is the back room where they put stuff so it doesn't get damaged.
Oh, I'm not sure what that set is.
It's in black with our pink set.
Looks like it, doesn't it?
Some stuff got moved around, see, with a move.
This poster needs to go up.
I've got to find some blue tack.
I've had a good day in Risca.
I've had quite a few little customers in today.
They're quiet this morning.
Can you all make sure that the lights are off, the plugs are off, right?
Except the Wi-Fi, because that's a nightmare, right?
All the plugs are off, because they're coming to Risca today now and the water one was on.
Right, so we're paying to heat that then.
Right, so yeah, I've had a good clean out out here.
I've got rid of all the junk off this thing.
Get a flat surface in the shop and I think it's covered.
So I've had a good sweep out and everything today.
I've got the sticker stuck to the floor.
Sold some stuff out the front, some of the big stuff I've been waiting to go.
So that's good.
Still some out there.
It's all good, isn't it?
So we've done that.
Trying to figure out what dog food we need now and pet food.
Still got lots of claws down here, some nice ones too.
But I'm trying to figure out now where these lulls so I can bring some more down.
But then the shops are not overloaded, see, with donations.
I had a couple in today which I've managed to work in.
So I've put them straight out.
But it is quite full again now.
So I've done most of the shelves.
Oh look, there's a gap there.
Like something could be put.
I've forgotten to price those last.
I'll have to do that.
And I've forgotten to price those ones.
That's where the food should be.
So we need to get that off and work it somewhere else.
The staff stuff can go in the back.
So we can put some in there, can't we?
Changed some of the... sold some of the stuff.
So we'll change that around.
I'm going to start looking at nappy orders now and food orders.
But I'm just going to remind people now.
That nappies, food bank, top up shop, sanitary items, all the rest of it is only available to our customers and donators.
It's not come in and make a donation for the nappy.
It isn't come in and make a donation for the food bank.
You have to follow those guidelines.
You're either donating stuff to us to fundraise or help other mothers or you're a customer.
You can't just come in and buy the nappies.
You can't just come in and make an offer for the food bank.
You have to be a customer or a donator.
Now when we buy the food banks and the nappies, especially the nappies, we have an allocation.
And we do it so every shop is done fairly.
So we have 5 size 7, 5 size 6, 5 size 4, whatever.
Now some of the shops get a few more because they get them donated in as well.
But once they've gone, we don't go out and buy more of them until the following time that we regenerate it.
It's a first come, first served service.
So it's not, I'm in shopping, I'm picking up a pack of nappies every time because that's my right.
It's if you need them.
The top up shop is only there to get you through the week so you don't need a food bank.
It's not, we work on a need basis, no greed.
So I'm just reminding everybody of that.
And can I remind everybody again, no clothes, baby clothes, adult clothes with stains on.
We don't want them please.
You need to put them in a clothes recycling bank.
The tic stained clothes.
We don't want any dirty or stained items.
Jan is maxed out with washing at the moment.
So please don't bring anything in stained or dirty.
Because what I told the volunteers to do now is go through the bags.
So if it's marked in any way they're going to say no we can't take this, we can't take this.
And send you back with all the donations.
So if you come in and it's dirty it's going to go straight back.
Because we just haven't got the time guys.
If it's stained you need to use it as a rag.
If it's stained then it won't come off.
I wouldn't give it to a mother if it's stained.
So please don't drop them off.
If a mother was in need I wouldn't say well give it all the stained stuff.
I wouldn't do that.
We don't put it up unless it's clean and tidy and can be reused.
If it's got a mark on it you need to use it for rags.
Or you need to put in a clothes recycling bank please.
I've had quite a bit from Risca.
Because I've had some bags that I took up from Risca.
And I've had some in the other day from Risca as well.
So please remember that.
And like I said with the nappies.
There's an allocation per shop because it's done fairly.
So you shouldn't be going in every week for a pack of nappies.
If you are then you need our helpline number.
So that the benefit people and the money people can help you work out how to provide better.
And save base better and manage your money better.
And it's one or the other.
So it's not a full food bank, nappies, formula, sanitary items and dog food.
It's one or the other guys.
So if we can remember that please to keep it as fairly as possible.
Please remember there are lots of other mothers out there now that are struggling.
And then we've got mothers coming in and we haven't got all the stuff from.
Because people are coming in every week.
Same people every week picking up the same thing.
The other thing is if you're only coming in and it's repetitive.
You've spent 50p.
It's repetitive.
We may bump you up to a minimum spend with it.
Because I have got two people that I've had to speak to.
In Pontypool to grandmothers that were coming in every week.
Buying leggings every week.
50p.
And I had to say right this has got to stop.
Because number one the mother's not here.
Number two you're in every week.
So we have to put them on like minimum spends.
Which is fair enough I think.
It's fair enough isn't it?
So I don't mind grandparents picking up.
But I need to know beforehand.
If the grandparents are picking up.
That's the other thing we're going to change I think.
Because otherwise people are just coming in.
And saying can I pick these up for school?
No.
Right?
It's got to be the mother.
Or I've got to have prior notice I think.
We'll do that as well.
What was the other thing I was going to...
Oh I can't remember now.
Staying stuff yet.
Said that didn't me.
Staying and broken stuff.
Check our list of what we take.
It does say on our list of what we take and what we don't take.
That pictures need to be sent of prams.
So I can check if they're going to pass the safety regulations.
And the cleanliness regulations before we have them.
High chairs they all need to be checked.
There is a post on our page with it.
We haven't really got time to be cleaning stuff.
We do our best and we salvage our best.
But like I said Jan is maxed out with washing at the moment.
And if it's a little mark then we can get it off.
But if it's stained it's never going to come out guys.
So you need to use it then as a rag.
