Right, I don't know if you can see me, guys.
I think you can.
I don't know.
I've got the thing to do the thing.
So, excuse my gloves.
I don't know who.
This might come in handy for us to keep, so that we can see the markings.
I'm using a hanky that was in the donations, just to clean it off.
Leather is dreadful for going mouldy.
That's one thing I've noticed, if you've got a charity shop.
I price the leather quite cheap to get it gone, because it will go mouldy very quickly.
I think it's because it's a natural product, isn't it, I suppose.
It's a bit rough in there.
I mean, worst-case scenario here, we could take the cover off, couldn't we?
But the cover's here to protect it, because these things do get scratched.
All we want to do is just a bit of leather.
That's probably what went wrong with the leather products in there.
The shipping container itself was quite secure, and a lot of the stuff weren't wet.
It was more... it had had this... and I bet it was because the leather was in there.
And it had started doing its thing.
It had started doing its thing.
Right, let me get all of that off.
Oh, it is coming off.
I mean, don't get me wrong.
You know, Jan takes on tons to wash.
She's had tons of washing the last couple of weeks, clearly.
Your line must be full, Jan.
And I'm very grateful, and I always say to the guys, if you're taking stuff home to wash it, give me your receipt for your washing powder.
We'll pay for that.
But she won't take nothing for it.
That's a good end, Jan.
As you know, she's been with us from the start.
So there we are.
We'll see how it goes.
It might be actually worth us keeping, because we probably only get about £2 for it.
I don't think it's a collectible one.
We did find a caviar spoon in there.
A Mother of Pearl caviar spoon.
That was nice.
But it might be worth us keeping to see the actual...
You know, we're all bloody getting old now.
Find the markings on stuff a bit better, see.
Yeah, it's not bad.
Maybe we'll clean him up and keep him on the desk.
So let's have a look at this.
This is a purse.
It's quite bad.
But it's leather, see.
It's a good purse.
My hand keeps sticking to the bottle, because I took the label off, because I'm not advertising the brand.
Without having a discount code for our mothers, or some sort of sponsorship.
This is why I say to people, don't put up posters in the shops, because if they're not sponsoring us, we're not advertising them.
And we need to check who we're advertising anyway.
But if you want to sponsor us, you're more than welcome.
We've got quite a big following online, and quite a big following in the public.
But that's what I usually ask, is A, you either sponsor us in some shape or form, or you work with us,
or...
These are not the best gloves, but they came out of like a tool, a tire-changing kit.
I was like, oh, there's my gloves in there.
No, they're not very good, look.
They're like funny ones, look.
I guess I'm more gloves over here, to do it.
Because this is where they're going to be doing this stuff.
But yeah, you're welcome to sponsor us.
We'll advertise you on the page.
And we can also put up...
It's getting round to doing it all, it is.
I could do with some boards, or some posters printed, to who sponsors us to go up in the shops as well.
Which obviously aids your business, doesn't it?
So, we work with a lot of families, and those families that we work with are with us for a very long time.
You know, they don't lose families, we retain them.
And, you know, they spread the word to other families as well.
So, there's a few companies already, and a few businesses, and some other things on our page, if you want to have a look at it.
Getting this slowly, it's getting in the grooves, it is.
And the problem is, you've got to get it all on the leather.
Because if you don't get it all, it'll just start the process again.
Especially if you've got, like, a damp place, or a...
Like a lot of our shops are pretty good now.
Probably Pontypool is probably the dampest.
Like Brynmawr is always hot.
It's like, every time we go in there, they check the heatings on.
But it's not.
When we took it on, I think it was the landlord's father said to us, it's a really up-building mind.
As I go, is it?
And he said, yeah, it's warming our shop, man.
And we were like, every time we go in there, check the heatings in.
There we are, I think we're getting that.
It's just one of those products, you know.
They've got these gloves.
It's just, people will say, people own leather shops, or work with leather.
They'll say, er...
You'll have this problem a lot, like...
The jacket, sometimes the jackets can turn quite quickly.
And you'll come in and you'll be like, oh my god, what's wrong with the leather jacket?
And it'll be covered.
Well, it's not funny as well, it's chemistry as well, isn't it?
But, er, chemistry and biology.
That's one thing we didn't expect to experience when we started this.
I've got most of it out.
I think you've got to go right in there to kill it, you are.
You've got to try and...
Get every bit, because...
If you don't, it'll come back straight away.
This one was just a broken...
Daniel said, yes, it are.
The jewellery box, the mirror's broken.
So I said, well, bin the mirror, because nobody wants to see it, because we don't want bad luck.
And then when I got it out, I thought, oh, I wonder if I can take this bit out.
But then, I think the back was a bit loose.
I think it's gone.
Oh, you are.
I can get Daniel to fix that, so we can stick it.
And then, you know, it's a bit extra for us.
And then, we've salvaged it.
And somebody else might say, oh, I'll have that.
And I'll just put a bit of felt in there.
I'll put my own mirror in there, or photos, or whatever in there.
I'll put a photo on the back as well.
You know, or even if you just add it to display jewellery and things and brooches and...
Either way, it's been rescued twice.
We've rescued it, and we've re-rescued it out of the bin.
I don't know if I should stop this now.
Oh, I got it.
