So these ladies have just knitted these.
The first time I've met them, they've knitted them for an excellent size.
Try and keep the knitting as tight as possible in line with the NMC.
I mean, they're beautiful, but that's what the NMC want, is they want them as tight as possible.
So we follow what they do.
That's the same as the hospitals and the midwifery and the midwives.
Everybody's tried this one today.
It's a lovely colour.
I love it.
So yeah, and the hats that they've knitted.
I've just given them a bucket full of wool we had there that we were selling.
I'd rather give it to them.
And they enjoy the knitting.
Gives them something to do, doesn't it?
But look, we've got some big hats now.
The reality is, the children are going to be wearing these to bed.
Because they're so cold.
You know, and mothers.
Mothers are, you know, dressing up, putting on their onesies and then their jumpers on top of their onesies.
Because they can't afford to have the heating on.
So we need sizes.
I've got tons of baby stuff.
What I really need is toddler to 10.
Yeah, but this is the reality that we're in, isn't it?
The children are wearing these to bed.
To keep their heads warm.
Wearing them around the house.
So these are fantastic.
This is exactly what we need.
The knit is good on this.
It's close.
Nobody can get fingers stuck in there.
This is exactly what we want.
Lovely colours.
So I've given them what we got.
I mean, do what you can with our wool.
Because some of it is a bit too fancy for this.
It's more like crochet-y type of wool, I think.
But that's ideal, that is.
Nothing like woolen items, is it?
So that was a lovely surprise this morning.
To have all of those cardies in like that.
Really nice.
So try and avoid things like this.
But, you know, beautiful.
Beautiful colours in there.
A lot of work gone in there.
And it's a day in craftsy knitting.
So we want to help as many knitters as possible.
So if you've got wool sat around in the house.
Half a ball of this.
Two balls of that.
And you're not knitting anymore.
Drop it off to us, please.
Because we've got loads of knitters.
Loads of people who want to knit for us.
Look at the windows.
Karl, you've done a good job on the windows.
Thank you.
Nice and tidy.
So...
It's all looking nice here.
It's all lovely.
It always is lovely.
Lisa came in this morning and she said, oh, it's nice and tidy in here.
I said, oh yeah, I haven't been here.
It's nice and tidy.
You know me, I'm organised here.
Just all fools around me.
I'm dressed.
You know what I'm like.
Oh, look in there, lovely.
Pretty, beautiful Christmas stuff we've had, guys.
Absolute beautiful stuff we've had.
So...
Yeah.
And I'm packing more stock now as we speak, down Risca.
So Risca is probably revamped to a stock.
So this is our two pound section, this is.
So don't go nets now on the catalogs and stuff now, mums.
With jumpers.
Look at that.
That's lovely, isn't it?
I like that knit, this chunky knit.
It's my favourite knit, that is.
That's lovely.
So, like I said, we haven't got the luxury of putting summer and winter clothes out because we just haven't got the storage, but don't go buying jumpers and stuff now from catalogs because we've got them here, they're like two pound each.
Little jackets, look.
Coats have been flying out, you know.
Cardis.
I've got to show off my wardrobe, I've got tonnes of clothes.
I've got tonnes of clothes, I'm always in the same blimmin' thing.
I haven't got time.
It's either covered in paint or I haven't got time to change.
And don't forget, we've got our sparkler peel on.
But come here first, guys, because there's loads of knitwear coming in.
You know, and you're going to want two or three jumpers on.
Layering is best.
I know it's old school and you've reared it for years off your grandmother, but she's right, layering is best.
It's the best thing for me.
That's what I found out.
Foil blankets.
I've got 200 of them.
So far, I might have another 200 coming, I think.
They bought them in the heatwave when they were on offer, but trust me, it's the best thing to have the foil blankets.
They really are.
Put them on top of your beds.
And then they won't be so sweaty.
I don't find them that sweaty anyway.
I don't know.
But all my cats, now all my cats, they sneak under them.
When I'm asleep, they're like, oh, let's get under the...
They didn't like them in the beginning, but they all sneak under.
Oh, that's lovely, isn't it?
Oh, Loxie Christmas presents.
Got to be done now, isn't it, guys?
DVDs are going well.
I had a fantastic load donated last night.
All Disney.
Thank you so much.
The lady kept them for us until I had time to pick them up.
I will pick up stuff, but I'm just crazy, crazy busy now.
So, like I said, the more volunteers we got in, the more I can do, like, picking up stuff for free, running around stuff for free.
But I can't do it unless I go volunteers in.
So, all the shops need volunteers in.
Just literally just turn up once my key holders are in.
Doesn't matter whether you come in for two hours, half hour or three hours, you know.
We don't monitor breaks.
We make sure the fridge is...
Well, thank God.
We make sure the fridge is stacked up with snacks because I'm not organised enough to manage my own diabetes.
I'm useless.
So, we make sure everything, there's tea, coffee.
Yeah, there's pop.
This isn't how I'm meant to pop in, and now I start panicking because I'm like, ooh, there's crisps.
Check of dates, because I'll eat anything that's like 25 years out of date.
So, if you look at it, you think, what the...
That's probably my dinner.
We provide food for our volunteers as well.
Dinner's here.
Guys down the street had a pizza today.
They ate it, I think.
They had a massive...
They've had massive stuff to sort through today down there.
So...
Yep.
Just turn up and volunteer.
We go through what we need to know when you're here.
You know you can't if you've got certain criminal convictions, otherwise pop in and we say, get on.
Like I said, there's always something to do.
Always size cubing.
Size cubing helps the customer so much more.
Because they haven't got a lot of time.
If they're only paying three hours in the car park, they haven't got a lot of time by the time they do what they've got to do in Blackwood, and then go round the other shops and come in two hours, so...
Makes it quicker for them, quicker for mums.
They haven't got a lot of time.
But yeah, yeah, we've been quite busy this morning despite the weather.
But I think it's because the market guy's there, and the meat and the veg, and that's everybody comes up for them and they're on a Tuesday.
So we've still got baby food here, three items.
It's less in Risca because we're not going to top it up until we've done the food bank room.
But we will be down there.
We will be down there now.
We've only got the roof now.
Roof and the floor, I think, to do in Risca.
Which won't take long.
It's literally...
It's like a stud wall, but it's on the roof.
And then I've only got to paint the floor.
And I can't do that until everybody's out of there.
So...
Yeah, right, I'm going to go now, guys.
I've got customers.
