Right, we are in all the shops this morning guys.
All the shops are open Aberbargoeds on the open Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
So if you need nappies, if you need anything you need to be up there Tuesday, Wednesday, 10 till 4.
You will be packed up by 4 o'clock.
So, here's the sunglasses, yawning again.
I got a good sleep too.
And yesterday, I went to sleep on the grass in Margam Park.
They are lovely.
I pinched a pair yesterday because I forgot my sunglasses or I'm on top of my glasses.
Around Margam Park.
Back in here now.
They are back in the box now.
So yeah, they are lovely.
They are nice ones.
They are not going to break.
They are not flimsy and they have come with the 400 UV protection.
So we are saying one per household at the moment.
But we will see what we can do.
I think these cost £27.99.
There are a lot more cheaper ones out there.
But they can't guarantee that they got a 400 UV.
And I wanted them to have that.
So you could pick them up £10 a pack.
But I think they are ones you use in party packs and stuff like that.
I don't think they were suitable for outside in the sun to be honest.
So we have bought three packs so far.
And they fit age 3 to 8 I believe.
So yeah, when you are calling in now and doing your shopping.
Just let us know if you need a pair.
We will do our best to get another set of boxes.
But whilst that was £27 it was roughly about £90 in there.
It depends.
Like I said, the more shopping, the more customers we get in the shops.
The more donations we have.
Just like a cash donation.
We don't usually take cash donations.
People usually say keep the change.
So we usually put £2 donation in the book.
Or you can make donations via PayPal.
We get lots of things in.
I am going to do the raffle now for the AU Vodka.
So I think I got four bottles of AU Vodka but I was going to raffle them singly.
It is the bubblegum one.
And then we will do it with... you can have lemonade and we will get you a bag of lemons as well.
Because I think you have got to have the lemonade to tip in it.
So we will do our raffle.
We are going to be picking up our lottery.
The lottery is going to be specifically for the food bank.
We thought when we do the actual bonus bowl or lottery.
I don't know.
You are going to have to help me with that guys.
Because I don't do the normal lottery.
So I wouldn't know.
So, yes.
We will be able to raise money for our food bank there.
Plus donations that come in.
Plus whatever businesses and shops and things give us.
So like I said.
The more customers we get.
The more of a profit we make.
The more we put it back into what we do and what people need.
We do buy things like we have paid for the mural.
Well hopefully I can get a castle so I can stock everywhere and get it with that.
But we do buy other things as well.
But just remember that some children wouldn't be able to have a castle like that to play in.
Or they wouldn't be able to see a mural like that.
So it is nice to do little things.
Little things like that as well.
But the more money that we take in the shops.
The more profit that we make.
Because the first thing we do is we pay the bills.
Then we buy the nappies.
And then we look into what else have we got.
We do ring fence a bit of money over quiet periods.
Like for example January, February.
We know it is going to be quiet around that time.
So what we tend to do is.
What I did last year was I paid the rent from November to February I think.
So the rent was paid.
So it wasn't sat in my bank account.
It wasn't sat in anybody else's bank account.
It was paid.
So we were in advance with it.
So we are looking for card machines as well I think this week.
So that will be another expense on top.
But you can get these card machines fairly cheap now.
So we are going to have a look at that.
But yes.
The more money we take.
The more the bills get paid.
The more that we put it into things that will help people.
So we thought well sunglasses are dear.
They have gone up a lot.
Because I asked one of our volunteers that works in Primark how much.
And they were quite expensive.
They were £9 I think for character ones.
And they were £3 or £4 I think for just normal sunglasses like this.
So that's quite a markup really.
If they are buying them from the same place as I bought them.
That's quite a markup because I think these worked out as £1 each.
But I wanted to make sure we had good quality ones that wouldn't snap and break easily.
And they had the good UV.
We've got the suntan lotion in the shops.
We can't afford to buy everybody a suntan lotion.
It would be nice if we could.
But we can't.
But we've got it here.
So don't worry if you haven't got any suntan lotion for yourself and children.
You can come in the shops and top up.
I'm trying to think where else.
We've got plenty of squashes in.
And drinks in.
So yep.
There's plenty of stuff here.
So don't feel like you need to go over to... because it's all money today.
It's awful.
It's the root of all evil.
Like you go to the cafe.
How much does it cost now to go and have a cup of coffee and a coffee and a squash?
And then you probably have to have something to eat with it.
I mean we don't do food yet.
But, you know, we do the drinks.
So just remember we do free drinks as well.
And just ask when in the shop.
You know, we're authorised to do them.
So that's fab.
So yeah, each shop has got a box of these.
I think there was 32.
So that's 32 children in each area that we can help, isn't it?
So the more profit we take, the more we can put back in.
I'd like to get another set of three boxes of these for each of the shops so that we can help out a bit.
And then, you know, because it's things like this that put up the bills.
The sun hats are free while stocks last.
So we've got little ones, babies right the way up.
The older ones seem to have gone a bit now.
Because we had some baseball caps and more of it.
But the best ones are with the little bit down the back of the neck, I find.
So it would be nice, you know, maybe not this year, but next year maybe, get into a place where we can buy, have enough sunglasses for enough people who need them.
And then have enough of these little hats with the little sort of desert thing down the back of it, you know, that covers the back of the neck.
They'd be the ones I'd prefer to get.
And I'll look as well.
I'll also look like the end of summer now.
I'll go, I'll check the shops and check the prices as well and check online because obviously summer stuff gets reduced down, doesn't it?
So see if we can stock up on it in advance because we did that with the gloves and the scarves didn't we last year.
And we had some people making them and then I picked up a pile didn't I from Tesco on the cheap.
So, yep, we're all open guys.
And like I said, we've got the stuff here.
We've got Foodbank stuff here.
All the shops have got nappies.
We're stocked up quite well with nappies.
Abba Bargad's only open Tuesday and Thursday because we've still got building work to get on.
We're down in Risca now.
So I need Dan down there unless there's anybody that can open up Abba Bargad for us.
We are looking for volunteer managers up there that can open up for a couple of days.
It would free up Dan then to come and finish building work here.
And go from there.
So thanks everyone.
