So we've still got quite a bit of the baby food left.
You've also got some other tins as well and toiletries.
So we've been doing five items and one toiletry or six items whatever is easiest isn't it.
So that's fab.
I've spoken to Shredding Standards, she said yes, if it's pre-packaged and in-date, yes, you can give out the vitamin drops.
I'm not 100% sure with that.
I don't know if I feel comfortable with that because you can overdose people with vitamins.
It's not always fatal but some you can.
So I'm not 100% sure if I want to do that or not.
But anyway, we've got samples there.
It's your choice isn't it I suppose.
So yeah, yeah, little things have been going.
Lots of the...
Because we had about five or six trays altogether.
So quite a bit has gone.
Quite a bit of the milk has gone.
Carl bought some tins in today.
So yes, I think we can start taking packaged food.
Nothing fresh yet.
We had some frozen stuff the other day from a freezer but I asked the lady could we... Susan who was donated it.
She had like onions and stuff and I said oh we can't really give it out yet but can we... can the staff have it?
And she said yes so we had it.
So that's that.
I've been putting it in my slow cooker.
What's this one?
Garden veg.
I thought that was like a porridge.
Oh it is a porridge.
There is a porridge there.
And this is our multigrain cauliflower broccoli cheese.
Oh this is like... oh right so this is like powdered food.
When you mix it up then I take it.
I thought that was just porridge but it's not.
So yeah I think we'll start taking ambient food now.
Indeed as long as it's been stored correctly.
Please don't leave it outside because we will have to dispose of it if it's left outside in the donation.
Please only bring them in during open hours you know trading hours because if it's outside we can't guarantee whether a rat has been near it see or any other sort of insect or anything so we we would have to dispose of it.
So in date, good condition tins, pasta, rice, lentils, chickpeas and you know anything like that.
Anything that's healthy for children to eat.
So it's not like tin on the wall.
We're gonna do tin for a child instead and obviously like we give it all out for free.
We never charge for food.
I don't believe anybody should charge for food and unlike groups like tin on the wall we won't charge the person in need four privilege of housing it from.
So I don't think anybody should have to charge for food.
If you're asking for food for help then you're in need.
So that's the way I feel about it.
You know that guys.
And we've given out absolute tons of food in the past.
We're progressing slowly because we're still not quite ready in the shops.
We've had to scale the the Fairshake collections back to get the shops up and ready and it's probably gonna be another month at least before we get that room ready to start taking any fresh food.
I will have a chat to environmental health to see if we can do anything for the risk of beach party.
But I won't do anything without asking him.
I was thinking about if we did free fruit on the day.
Because it's quite busy risk of beach party is.
So I thought if we do free because we do free squash and free tea and coffee anyway.
But if we did free fruit as well.
We could do that.
But I'll see what she says.
I'll see what environmental health says.
And then I just ask them.
It's easier just to ask them.
They're the experts at the end of the day.
We had permission to do these strikes.
So not that we had.
We didn't apply for them.
Lots of supermarkets gave them out for free.
But we didn't get a chance.
We were too busy to apply for them.
Maybe next year.
It's always next year, isn't it?
So we're going to do TIN for a child.
Because we are a baby and child food bank and mum food bank.
So we'll do TIN for a child.
Because child is up to 18.
21 if they're in full time education.
That's where the DWP sits, isn't it?
So, you know, healthy balanced meals are I mean, you know, a necessity for them as well.
So, you know, you'll probably be feeding a family.
If we were to give a family a carrier bag full of TINs.
Probably be feeding a family for that.
A week or a couple of days.
So if you had like pasta, rice, a couple of TINs, bits and bobs.
You know, that you'd be, they'd be able to make food for a couple of days, wouldn't they?
So, but we'll, what we'll do is call ours TIN for a child.
So if you can bring it into the shops.
Don't leave it outside just in case.
I think we'd have to dispose of it if it's left outside.
I don't want to do that.
So, these are emergency ones for when you're out apparently, I think.
Starter pack, ready to feed.
So I don't know how much is in there.
I mean you get six or six ready to feed.
I see.
So you can just feed on the go with that.
So that's, you know, six feeds there if anybody wants it.
I'm not sure what's in the other shops.
I'll have to let you know.
I don't know if we're going to go open and have a bargain next week.
Is there anybody who can open it up for us?
Because I've still got some DIY work here that we're falling behind on that I want to keep up on.
And I could really do with Dan being down here.
To get on with some doing the shoe shelves, getting that bit done and all the rest of it because we're falling behind again now.
So we really need someone to manage it we do up there.
I mean we designed the shops for to be run by mothers for mothers.
So it'd be ideal if somebody can take over up there.
You can do whatever time and days you like.
We always do Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday because we find that works best for us.
But you can do whatever days and times.
And we won't just check you up there.
You know we'll let somebody come up with it.
Just to show you what to do and everything.
So yep that's it.
We're gonna start our tinder for a child now.
And this will be an ongoing appeal.
So this will just run now for as long as we're the food bank.
So five years ten years down the line.
I mean we started this in 2000 in the pandemic didn't we?
So yeah I mean did I think back then we'd be doing this and our three shops and you know having all this support of businesses and people in the community and the council and people like that.
No I didn't.
I've never seen a can as big as this.
But there we are.
You know us.
We rock and roll with it.
So yeah it's still low gear.
Come and pick some up.
If Dan goes up on Tuesday he will take some of these jars up on Tuesday as well.
So that there is a you know that's baby bank gets some some of the food as well.
But I can't guarantee it's gonna be up there because we have got to get a grip with this work.
So let us know.
I mean you don't have to have the baby food if you're just in need of some toiletries.
You can just come in and have a toiletry if you want.
You know as long as you're one of our mothers it's not a problem.
Or you know you've got older children.
So yeah we've done a we've done a lot of the pack testing down here.
I think we're gonna do Pontypool by the weekend.
And Abba Bargo hopefully next week or when we're there again.
So everything should be up to date for the volunteers and for customers there.
Yeah so we've got a few surprises going on down here.
I haven't had the castles yet.
They've been delayed on delivery.
So I'll try and keep you posted with that.
But I've got my heart set on these castles now.
So I hope I get them.
But they're showing out to stock everywhere.
So I'd be upset now if they don't come.
I've had my eye on them for ages.
Right so I'm gonna do a bit of pricing now.
