Oh, so the paint took well.
God, I've had these two pots of paint since last year, and they're like 20 years old, these pots of paints, weren't they?
So, it's taken well.
Get another coat on these today now.
I don't know, it dripped a bit.
But there, look at this, I love this.
This is the cake stand recording this.
There are loads on it.
There's tons of room under there, look.
I could get tons of boxes on there full of stuff.
But what I wanted was to just display stuff a bit better.
Oh, we can get loads, look, can't we?
Because, I mean, we've got a lovely wall.
It must be half the time you can't see it.
You know?
Lovely, those little tea lights.
I like candles anyway, you know that.
These are always Andy in there, just to put your pens in and stuff.
They look so much better displayed, don't they, than just, like, we've tried to display them on here, but it's just packed.
It's just packed to a stuff.
Aren't we grateful for everything that's donated, you know?
Even if we don't sell it, sometimes we use it in the shop.
Because we need it for the business side of things.
I think I reduced this down, I think.
I can't remember what we put on it now.
I think 15 is a bit much for this eternal bowl set.
There's quite a few bits missing.
Well, I don't know, a couple of quid we'll put on it.
It is a bit broke, look.
Eternal bowl is quite collectible, but this one isn't in a very good condition.
The other one I used to like, because my mother used to collect eternal bowl, was the fruit one.
Remember the fruit cup one that was the same?
I used to like that one.
So yeah, I've got sort of all this out of today now.
Get this painted.
I've got about three pasting tables that's for sale.
Probably about a fiver each for the pasting tables.
Because we don't need them anymore, because we're not doing...
Well, we might do car boots because we enjoy them, but it'll be more about networking now.
We'll take some of the crafts that people have made, or some bits and bobs, or maybe nappies to help out mothers.
But we'll be sat at the car boot sale, liaising, you know, and talking, and networking, and telling mothers about what we do, and giving out leaflets and stuff, or where the shops are, where they can go for help, giving them the food bank numbers and the fair share places.
So it's not so much about, oh, because in the beginning it was like, oh, God, get all this in the car.
We've got to get rid of it all, because we had nowhere to put it to be, you know.
And people were like moving into houses, and we were giving them boxes of stuff, like, you know.
Just boxes and boxes of stuff.
We couldn't even sort through it.
But at least now, if somebody's struggling, they can come in and go, well, I'd like to have these 10 items, you know, and we can say, OK, we can gift them to you.
You know, they say, well, I need plates.
I could do with a coffee pot.
I could do with a couple of ornaments.
So at least we're just not giving boxes and boxes away.
And then other people are stuck with stuff, too.
So, yeah, this is my, it's not that bad.
This is mostly containing boxes.
I could probably stack them up somewhere tidy.
But I'd like to get this painted today.
And then if it's dry, probably tomorrow.
Now it takes a long time to dry in here.
We can, I think they're going to work on the shoe shells next.
We can start getting the ornaments out on there.
We might need to put boxes on there for now because we've got so much.
But it is, you know, it is going down.
So I think we did well really there to follow through with the recommendation to stop donations at risk.
Because we needed to have that break.
Oh, me and Gwen, one day, we cleared out that hallway three times in one day.
We were like, oh, we just did this.
So I think we did well to stop the donations.
Because it gave us that time to add that little bit of space to try and get things done.
Like I said, we need one in Newport, I think.
Pretty sharp.
I should get a lot of people up from Newport.
One in Cardiff.
Ponty Pool is available for donations, guys, as well.
You can see they're desperate for bric-a-brac and stuff over there.
They are getting some nice donations.
And I looked yesterday at some nice stuff there.
They would be nice, wouldn't they, for soup?
So yeah.
Got some nice volunteers over there as well.
I spoke to a couple of them.
I need to pop over and meet them all.
But we'll get there now, girls.
We just got to sort this out, we have.
Sort this out.
Get this sorted by you now.
And then we'll be a bit more.
Because I think you can still walk down there now.
Got one cabinet to move from down there.
But we've got to pull all this out to build this.
But I can start getting it back in now today.
And then all the shoes are going over there.
In the shoe area.
And then this will be for bric-a-brac as well.
So that's good, because we can put out more vases and stuff.
Because the bric-a-brac sells really well.
I'm really surprised.
Like last week we sold a vase for five pounds.
It's a beautiful vase, mine's beautiful.
And then, you know, other days we might sell something for 50p or a pound.
I love him.
But it all adds up, doesn't it, guys?
It's all about the running cost, you know that.
We don't take a wage at all.
Daniel don't even claim petrol.
So...
There we are.
Nice shoes in again, but you can't get to them now.
Nice sandals.
Don't buy sandals now, come here.
Tons of sandals, here we go.
Tons of men's clothes.
They're desperate for men's clothes in Pontypool.
But I just, I haven't got the time to sort through them to take them over.
The only thing I can do, girls, is chuck in a few bags every time I come over.
And just hope you're going to get what you need, like, for now.
Yeah, we've got all this lovely stuff for you.
Look, but you can't, I can't get out the boxes.
So, yeah.
I'm having a tidy about the front now.
I've still got chairs out there, dining room chairs for a pound.
I'm going to put some other stuff out there.
This is, this is getting wider, isn't it?
Look at this, because what we needed is for a pram to...
So I'm just going to be able to push their pram round.
So, yeah, this...
Getting a lot better.
Don't forget we've got these.
These got to go.
They're not big enough for what...
I wanted them to put the baby blankets on, but they're not big enough for what I wanted.
They're spoken for.
The baskets are excellent.
I definitely need more of them baskets.
I think we've got one, two, three, four.
One, two, three, four.
I think we've got five sets of those baskets for there.
And you can hardly see where they are because we've used them so well.
Like, we've got so many baby clothes out.
Some people like to take it off the anger, some people like to rummage.
You know, we can do the same now for people.
So...
Um...
All that's to go with that.
Put that over there.
So, yeah, I'll have my tablets now and then...
Crack on.
We're tidying up for there, I think.
The boutique is open because we managed to take those stands out.
Because the problem is the boutique is right by the door.
So as soon as something comes in, we're like, oh, quick, put it in the boutique.
But it's open now.
Those stands have gone over.
Don't worry about your pegs for those stands, girls, over there.
Because Roy is looking at something else we've had given.
And he's going to try and turn it into, like, a plate rack.
So that when you get bric-a-brac over there, you can stand your plates up in it.
We've got, like, mini, like, tight plate racks.
And he's going to put on the two of them.
Probably, like, three or four.
Maybe only three on each side.
But it'll be easier for display in bric-a-brac.
Um, yeah.
So I've got some stuff for over there.
I think I've got ten more rails for you over there, but only the small ones.
Um, don't move them about, because they're not very good once you start moving them.
Um, and I've got you a rail, extra rail, for the stairs, for when we open up upstairs.
Because I think you've got to have two rails on a stairs.
Uh, we know that from doing the landing at the other unit.
So...
I'll put it in anyway.
We've got it, so we'll put it in when we're safer for everybody.
If we've got two rails.
Um, might put a little one in for children.
Put one halfway down for children.
Could do that.
Because children can't reach the rails, can they?
We'll see.
We'll see.
We haven't had a shot with steps as such yet, only the landing.
And that's only for displaying items.
It's not for weight bearing.
Uh, it's more like displaying the bigger items, you know, that take up the room.
So yeah, Gwen had a massive clean-up yesterday.
Fair play to her.
She did do well.
We'd be lost without our volunteers, every single one of you.
You know.
Um...
I was up till ten last night.
Uh, I had to email the landlords about updates on things.
So that was good.
Letting them know where we are.
Uh...
Waiting on our food rating for our bar good.
Fingers crossed for them.
They've worked really hard up there.
They deserve it.
Um...
So yeah, we're waiting on our food rating.
We're waiting on our food rating in all shops.
I got a meet-up with the environmental health guy over, uh...
To Vine as well.
But Teddy's spoken to him, so...
Seems a nice bloke.
Like we said, we work with them anyway.
All they do is give us expert advice, don't they?
So...
You know.
They work with you.
They know that we...
We're a big organization.
They know that we're not gonna stop...
Helping people and doing this.
So we all work together.
And they just say, right, this is what you need to do to improve what you're doing.
So, you know...
Happy days, isn't it, guys?
Right, see you all in a bit.
