When we get donations in, guys, can I just remind mothers, don't bag it up separately like this.
Just put it all in one bag.
We go through everything when it comes in anyway to make sure it's got fire safety labels and that it's not damaged or marked in any way.
If it is damaged or marked, we usually put it in the free box because we're zero waste.
But can I remind mothers, don't package anything up individually like that because we've got to take it out and it's a waste of plastic.
So with our zero waste title, obviously we want to minimize the use of plastic as much as possible.
If you can use reusable bags for your donations, that's fab as well.
Anybody that brings it in in black bags and stuff, it's not a problem because even if I can't undo the knot, I just cut it off and then we use it in our bin anyway.
But we're trying to use minimal plastic.
I don't want to put rules out because I know a lot of groups like, oh can't take this, can't take that.
I know what they're like and it's annoying.
But one thing that we are invested in is our zero waste to keep as much waste down as possible.
And like I said, if we get anything in marked or damaged, unless it's got a fire safety label on because I've got to destroy them, always been on a recall by trading standards.
We've had a few things, letters off them to say don't sell this, destroy it.
Then I've got to destroy them, you know.
But yeah, don't package anything up because we've got to take it all out for safety reasons anyway.
But yeah, you can put labels on them if you want because that's easier for the staff then when they're sorting them out.
But yeah, no individual bags if possible.
And like I said, if you can help us now, I mean you're doing loads anyway because look at the stuff you've donated.
I mean we've saved literally tons and tons and tons of textiles and various other things going in the bin.
And that's all down to you lot that is.
I mean we're just the facilitators, you know that.
And we love it because we're all about recycling.
So yeah, if you can do that for us, just put them in the bags because the volunteers go through them anyway.
Thanks guys.
