I videoed this yesterday and lived it and it didn't come up.
So we had a good little tidy up of the boutique because we put a lot of stuff in here all the Christmas that needed to be sorted.
Because people weren't spending mega bucks all the Christmas.
They were just coming in for essentials and bits and bobs.
So we've put some more stuff out.
Look at that.
That's lovely isn't it.
Bootyful little bits and bobs.
We get bootyful stuff donated.
I don't think that's a Pandora one.
It's just in a Pandora box.
Bootyful stuff.
We get donated.
Look at that purse.
If you've got a prom coming up now.
Oh look at that watch.
If you've got proms coming up now, come here first guys.
Because I don't want to pay you like £15 for a necklace.
And stuff like that.
You know us.
We're not expensive.
Come in and see us.
So just giving you a little... I'm trying to go slow.
I'm used to going slow.
Just all the bits and bobs that we've got.
Let's have a look.
Quite a few coats and things.
I mean we've sold one item from you know.
What's that?
Oh five only.
Look that's not too much.
A lot of people come over and they say the prices on our boutique stuff is the normal price in the other charity shops.
Whereas they go into charity shops and they're really expensive.
I mean we have sold a topping for £40 and the lady was like oh yes.
Pirates of the Caribbean one it was.
And she was like oh yes I'll give you this.
It was from Orlando.
That one's ten.
I don't know what brand that is.
Oh it's Adidas.
We'll have a look anyway won't we.
I love this.
I love this.
It's too small.
A little pack of that.
Lots in the boutique.
But what I wanted to show you now was we've got the shelves up now.
I didn't really want shoes on there but we've got quite a few bits and bobs of shoes at the moment.
Some nice ornaments we've got.
I can't believe he's still here.
He's been here since the start.
Nice golf shoes I think they are.
If anybody's golfing like.
So my caramel and bag is just for show really.
That's what Chris's husband made.
Look I got another one.
I knew we had another one somewhere.
For you.
Isn't that good.
Isn't that a good idea.
It's fabulous.
A little frame.
But this is what I wanted to show you.
Look we've done their sporting memories cabinet.
I've got Bibles in the bottom.
Those Bibles are quite expensive.
I think some of them go up to like £50 or £60.
Bibles are fetching quite a lot so if you've got one that you've been given or something like that.
And you don't want it any longer.
Have a look on eBay guys.
They're going quite well.
So we've got our sporting memories in there.
Some of our shirts are a bit dear.
We could do with a bigger cupboard to be honest.
We might need to get two.
I found some golf balls but they keep rolling off so I'm going to need some egg caps.
Stand them in the egg caps.
But yeah, you know.
So that's nice.
Then we'll put some of the cats in there and some of the scarves.
I think we need a bigger cupboard if I'm honest.
Or maybe two.
But yeah, don't they look nice guys.
I wanted to do that from the start then we just never got around to doing it.
So yeah, if you've got any glass cupboards, let us know.
We pick them up the best we can.
It's free for us to pick them up.
You know, just give us a shout.
I've got a lady now who's got some stuff for us to pick up.
So, that's fab.
Yeah, so glass cabinets we need.
Now, we always need shelves.
So I'll always say yes to shelves and dresses.
But yeah, that's what we need.
Because of course, I haven't got any of that over Pontypool either.
Nice nettles, isn't it?
Well, that's nice.
Lovely items that we get donated.
Don't pay through the notes for stuff now for proms and discos or whatever.
Honestly, guys.
Honestly.
We sold some ornaments out here yesterday.
Which is nice, isn't it?
Because it hasn't been opened.
So, it's no good if it's not open, is it?
So, most of these are our posher ones.
Perhaps we'll wait and see how we go now till spring.
And then perhaps we'll go and do an auction.
I've never done auctions, so if anybody wants to come with us, they can.
But what we do is we look on eBay and other selling sites.
And if it's like £20, we try and go under.
Like, you know, if it's up for £15 and £20 everywhere else, we still try and do £10.
I don't know.
Yeah, so it looks good, doesn't it?
I found this big basket, the lid was broke.
But I thought, oh, that's handy, because we're bound to be able to find stuff to go in there.
We need a few more hangers in here.
I could do with a few more things on the wall in here.
So, we'll ask Royal Canon, can they put up some more things there?
Because, you know, we need to use every inch of space, don't we?
Yeah, these are nice.
I'm sure these are worth a bit, too.
I'm sure I've seen these somewhere.
Hang on.
I got a funny feeling they're from Hamburg, or Germany, or a German designer.
I'm not sure.
Have a look, guys.
You're always good at finding stuff.
Have a look.
I'm sure I've seen those somewhere else.
I don't think she's the same type, but she's lovely, isn't she?
These, I think.
Oh, see, some of them got stuff on.
Some of them just got marks on.
It's difficult, isn't it?
They're nice, though.
Figure out what you've got to do with them.
Nice jug.
Look at that now in the summer.
Bunch of pins in.
Yeah, so I found the other one off Chris's husband.
He made those.
Everybody's fellas get roped in, don't they?
Once you're in, that's it.
It's a full family job, isn't it?
So, yeah, we appreciate everybody who takes time out to do things like that.
Little things like that make such a difference.
Because they'd probably get lost or broken if we just had...
Because we haven't got time, see.
So we'd just chuck them in a bowl or something like that.
But, you know, people who can come in and do little things like this.
Or I think Chris took them home to do, you know.
You're more than welcome to do that.
You know, you'll bring them back.
Some of the, you know, Viv and...
Jan, she always takes her phone to do.
Bring it back, homework.
Nice stuff now, look.
Nice stuff in there.
I need to zoom out a bit.
But I'm afraid to touch a camera because I tried to record it three times yesterday.
It didn't go.
Oh, that bottom shelf is so tidy.
So what I need now is someone to come in and manage the boutique.
I need somebody who knows the difference.
Like, this shouldn't be in here, right?
Because that's pre-mark, right?
So pre-mark is cheap enough, isn't it?
That was probably £13 and it's been in a sale, right?
So that should really be on the £2 rail.
That's how I see it.
Because pre-mark is a cheap shop, as is pre-mark.
If they've got labels on them like that, they should be in there.
They shouldn't be in the boutique.
Boutique is for things that are a little bit unusual.
A little bit collectible or designer.
So what I need is somebody to come in and manage the boutique.
Go through the donations that we get in.
We're not taking any at risk at the moment.
But a lot of our volunteers are good now at ring-fencing things.
Kelly always does a bag full of stuff and sends it down with Dan.
It's like, alright, she's gone through the donations.
What I need now is somebody to come and run the boutique.
To go through the donations when they come in, or the ones we've already sorted.
Price them accordingly to how we're pricing.
I don't want to...
This is our little money spinner that's in here.
It's a little bit quirky.
It's a little bit of, let's go and have a look in the boutique.
Everybody says, oh, we haven't looked in the boutique yet.
So it's a little bit of a kitsch thing that people like to come in and do.
So we need it to be kept kitsch.
I need it to be kept like a boutique.
Because there's some stuff that isn't boutique in here that need to go out.
Like, some of these are worth a bit.
But then, like these are.
But then this isn't.
This little, it's very nice, but it isn't worth anything really.
It's probably a pound, I'd say that's probably.
Well that's what I would ask for if somebody asked me how much.
But then we've got some other little things.
Like the jelly molds.
They're quite kitsch.
They're very collectable at the moment.
So...
Things like this, you know, it's a little bit unique.
It's old-fashioned, unique.
Worth a little bit.
Like the plate at the back there.
I've never known that plate before.
Honestly.
I also need someone to come in and Google.
This is lovely, I love this.
It's nice on your dressing table in there.
Yeah, or if you're buying a gift for your nan or something.
For Mother's Day, that would be nice.
For Mother's Day when you go put jewellery in there.
Just use it like the box, couldn't you?
Yeah.
Can I do that?
Because there are some things.
Like I know we've got the designers who was in here at the moment.
But they shouldn't really be on the shelves.
They should be more boutiquey stuff.
We've got some of the expensive books out.
I've given some of them away to Kelly who does...
raises money for the Turner Foundation and Beth's Food Bank.
Because we had so many, I just haven't got time to go through them.
But I need somebody who knows their stuff.
Knows their designer stuff.
Knows their sort of antique, you know, or little... like this.
Like I didn't realise what it was.
It's only when you look at it you can see it's Jungle Book.
Now somebody who is an avid Disney collector will buy that.
And they'll just... when it's Disney they're like, Oh yes, yeah, I'll take the money.
So, you know, I would be the same because I like E.O.
So if I seen an E.O.
out, I'd like go and have him.
But there's some things that's been put in here.
Like, why have I got... who's gone and put?
We need to put bedding in here.
That should be in the haberdashery section.
You know, what's on this rail?
Next, I mean, yes, alright, it's next.
But I mean, as far as I'm concerned, that's a £2 section job.
Is that £20?
I've written that.
There must be a reason why it's £20.
Oh, it's River Island.
River Island sells really well.
We get good money from River Island.
So I'm happy to do that.
I mean, you know, if you don't sell, we'll reduce it down.
But then... oh, that might be one because it's a posh one, I don't know.
But I need someone who can come in maybe twice or three times a week.
Go through the designer staff, mark it up.
Like the little Led Zeppelin thing, you know.
It's quite catchy, isn't it?
You know, people like that, yeah.
So that's why I needed somebody to come and be my boutique manager now.
Because we've got three shops now.
The three shops are all going to have designer rails in them.
But this is the actual boutique.
We've got another room next door that we could explode into that one.
If we get too much staff.
I mean, at the moment, that's where all the donations go.
We're backed up on donations, as you know.
But that's what I need really.
Is for somebody to come in now, manage this two or three times a week.
That will be your job.
You will do the pricing.
Check it for any damages.
Because if there's damages, we put it straight out into the charity bit of it.
You know, the charity shop style of it.
Like this.
Look, this is lovely.
But this is quite collectible.
Because of the year, apparently.
So, like this.
This cupboard ends big enough, I don't think, for the football staff.
But it should be in there, like, you know.
Because it's not just about selling it for the price we got on it.
It's about making it look nice as well.
And it's about, you know, a lot of our mothers can't afford to go into a boutique.
I can't afford to go into a boutique.
And chances are they wouldn't have my size.
You know, so it's nice to be able to have that experience.
To come in here and you can go, oh, how much is this top?
I really like it.
It's in the boutique.
You know, and it's not a bad price.
It's river, are you then?
It's not a bad price.
Is it?
And you know, if you're buying stuff anyway, we always do discounts.
So it's not like, you know, weird extortionate.
And if people say, oh, I've seen this.
Cheaper as this.
People have said to us, suddenly they've gone, oh, you've got that up for £20.
I haven't got anything on it.
They know solid selling very well.
And they used to be quite collectible.
And we're getting quite a few of these in.
This is why we need to go to auction to get it gone, to sell as we were looking to buy it, really.
They're like, oh, you've got this up for £20.
But when I went on eBay, they were like £8.50.
And we'd be like, all right, OK, we'll just give a £6 right now.
Because we want, we still want to be cheaper than everywhere else.
Look, that's lovely, look, isn't it?
For a fella from the boutique.
£5, that's not bad, isn't it?
And it's a lovely colour.
And it's a good old size, isn't it?
Look at that.
So that's what we need.
I can ask Conor now and Roy and Paul, can they put some more of the ball reels like that across there?
Because then we can hang a few more things up.
We've got a porky stick now.
We could do some more porky sticks to get stuff off.
But this, this reel is a bit of a mismatcher.
I wouldn't have put some of the stuff that's on this reel.
Zara, yes, we're getting the prices for Zara.
And...
Well, that's M&S and it's got £7.50 on it.
So I probably would have put that at about £3.
I don't think there's a price on it.
Maybe £3 for that.
It's a nice colour, isn't it?
But I wouldn't say boutique, see.
Now that one, you know, it would be because this is things that should be in here.
It's vintage Stella McCartney, I believe.
Right, so that's something that should be in here.
Yeah, I mean that should be... well, we haven't really got a bit to put up on a wall, have we?
So I need someone who knows their brands, knows their vintage brands.
We've got a lot of people that come in.
Oh, Verity comes in and she goes, right, that bit of china, that bit of china, that...
So she knows the china.
You know, and that's always good because I only know that because I've seen it on Antiques Roadshow.
But like, this has been put in here and it's broke.
So it doesn't matter if it's worth £125,000.
If it's broke, it's going to devalue it, innit?
So that shouldn't be in there, to be honest.
That should be in the brick-a-brack section.
So I need someone to come in and do an overhaul in here and then to maintain it.
We need someone... one of our other volunteers is coming back.
They're off, they're not very well at the moment.
Coming back to do the clothes.
Shoes, look at the bags, look.
I'm going to buy a bag now for...
Come here.
They're going to Margaret.
I need somebody now to maintain the clothes out here, the adult clothes.
Abidashari section.
Usually Viv does the Abidashari.
But she hasn't got a car and all the rest at the moment.
But the Abidashari should be in one place now.
So we need someone to maintain the children's clothes, which is 12 to 15, 16.
And the uniforms.
The uniforms, you don't really need to do much with them.
We just leave them there and people rummage through them.
They only need a tidy.
We need somebody to man the brick-a-brack, maybe two or three.
And I need somebody to man the adult clothing.
We've got a couple for the baby staff.
Jan and Viv tend to do baby staff as well.
But you are more than welcome.
And we also need to maintain the toys.
As well, I'd say.
Oh, bags.
Don't buy a bag.
This side at the end of the century.
Come here.
See, I've got more Abidashari than I know.
I put one curtain up because I could only find the one.
And it was a nice gingham.
Nice stuff in there.
Beautiful curtains there.
Right, so that's what we need.
So if you're looking for a specific role, because this shop is so big, we need to have people in specific areas.
Whereas the other shops, you can just mellow around a bit and do what you like.
You can see we've sorted all these lovely little gifts out.
Two to three pounds, depending on what they are, you know.
We've done that.
This mattress is back available.
It was going, but they decided to have bunk beds instead.
I've got that one.
And we've got that tempo under there.
It might not be tempo, what's it called?
Or bamboo.
Can reduce that one down a bit because we need them gone.
Found a load of records yesterday.
They're going quite well.
