A lot of people punched her twice in the face and knocked her to the floor and began kicking her in the face and head.
My daughter was recently severely beaten by a bully.
It was videoed.
I can't watch the video.
A lot of people have seen it and said that it's one of the worst videos that they've ever seen.
Abby is 13.
She was 8 when she was diagnosed with autism.
Autism gives her things like social anxiety, understanding friendships can be quite difficult for her.
Dealing with crowds, different sounds, smells.
Even different foods can be difficult for her.
Abby joined Newskill in June.
She'd met this new friend, brought her home.
She told this girl about all of her insecurities and all of her anxieties.
She and Abby started going to a park nearby where we lived.
I've got a tracker on Abby's phone so I can follow her every move.
She texted me to say that this girl wanted to meet her up at the park.
And could she go?
And I went, yeah, sure.
Then it was about two hours and I hadn't heard from her.
But I kept checking the tracker and the tracker was showing that she was still in the park.
So I was beginning to get a little bit concerned because Abby keeps in touch with me constantly.
So I messaged her and said, are you okay?
I then rang her and she just suddenly went, I'm okay, I'm okay.
And then I heard the other girl shouting her name and then the phone went dead.
At that point, I'm like, no, there's something doesn't feel quite right.
I get in the car and followed the tracker to the park where she was.
But the tracker couldn't quite pinpoint the area that she was in.
So that's when I began to really panic and I called the police to try and help me.
Then the tracker suddenly moved very quickly and I was confused.
I was still on the phone to the police.
The police were saying, do I need an ambulance?
And I said, I don't know.
I think she's managed to walk home.
Maybe she's okay.
It's only about six minutes walk from home.
The tracker was showing me that Abby was almost home and then I'd got home.
She had a large hematoma on the right side of her head.
The other side was all bruised up and swollen.
She'd had her ear bashed to the concrete and she was in a lot of pain.
Because her face was also kicked towards the ground, she'd split all the inside of her mouth.
I was so frightened to death on that journey to the hospital.
She was in and out of consciousness.
She was lucky to get away with no fracture.
She said she met the girl at the park.
The girl approached her and just said, I heard you'd been talking about me.
And Abby said she was really, really confused.
She's like, Mom, I didn't talk about her.
I didn't know what she was talking about.
The girl punched her twice in the face and knocked her to the floor and began kicking her in the face and head.
She doesn't sleep at night anymore.
She keeps getting flashbacks.
Abby, at the moment, doesn't want to return back to school.
CID got involved straight away, said this is attempted murder.
And CID said if she was an adult, yes, we could have tried her for attempted murder.
But because she's a child, we can't.
The charges against Abby's attacker have not yet been finalised.
I've been raising awareness.
I'm so angry about how the fact that our children aren't protected in that way.
The girl that befriended Abby befriended her knowing her vulnerability.
So she got Abby to trust her and Abby had let her know that she had autism.
It's because of Abby's vulnerabilities that connected with her autism that she definitely was kind of like a beacon for this.
I would like to see justice for Abby and for anyone else that's had to go.
